  • i like it:)

  • Sounds like the final cross-examination theme for a case in Ace Attorney.

  • Beetween Megaman 2 Wily stage 1 music and This awesome tracks, I prefer this awesome track

  • subscribed!!!

  • I'm so mad at Capcom for cancelling Legends 3 :( WHYYYY!?!?!!!?......

  • @drumgy8

    Cuz Capcom's like Dr.Wily,

He's got the right equipment, he just doesn't seem to use it.

  • @drumgy8 Legends?....oh you mean Megaman Legends 3?

  • Very heroic indeed

  • Ringtone time

  • best fucking megaman theme !!! :D

  • Hum, not a giant music. I don't understand, why a lot of people love this music and think it is one of the best music of Megaman?

  • I need to hear a disco remix of this. That'd be badass

  • This > Wily Stage 1 MM2

  • @aaronthegreat695 Agreed, the theme is 2 is overrated, it doesn't give you the feeling that you're in despair fighting for mankind, it sounds like a superhero theme from the 70's >_>

  • It does sure give a "You went so far. Try to screw it up." feeling. This music is second to a title music in this game IMO.

  • incredible emotion with such primitive music, gogo nes, gogo dreams of our youth !!

  • @Tentoken i would disagree on only one point: while the tech used for the music is certainly primitive, the actual composition's decently advanced and complex.

  • this is my favorite megaman theme, ever. Hands down.

  • @knucklesfanyeah that and it's rockman, roll, blues (protoman) Bass and treble.

  • @bsgdec I think you forgot that Forte and Gospel were the Japanese names for Bass and Treble.

  • check out mysteriousmanPOW

he plays this on piano. it's sick. the guy's amazing.

  • This is for sure my favorite song in this game (Spark Man is a close second). You could set this to any climax of any action movie and it would fit, probably better than the original score. Just has that epic "this is it" push to it.

  • Mega Rockin man! good times...

  • @knucklesfanyeah first reason is the designer for the game gave him the name Rockman incorporating music-theme, thus Rock's sister is Roll and Blues is Protoman's name in Japan. theres a lot of others in the series that have music reference.

and second is for the rock/paper/scissors system

  • @knucklesfanyeah 1st game = ROCK, Paper, Scissors theme.

The whole reason why Cut Man is easy to beat with the Rock Buster.

  • I prefer the first part song

  • I think this is one of the most underrated songs of this game.

  • I absolutely love this version of the Wily Theme...from 0:17 - 0:40, it sounds like it has that determination that makes you feel to help Mega Man stop Wily once and for all...many video game magazines and websites give MM2 more love...sure, it did have Metal Man's awesome Metal Weapon to use, but MM3 was the birth of Rush, Proto Man, the 'Mega Slide' move and of course, this Wily Theme..lol....that's why I have MM3 as my favortie one..lol

  • @solidusny07 Megaman 3 is actually as good as its predecessor, Megaman 2. Both games had some damn good Dr. Wily. Stages Music.

  • @solidusny07

Don't forget it also has the best, get a weapon theme as well.

  • Ive got to thank you very much for posting this song, almost done transcribing it, very fun stuff. Very powerful piece even if it only has like 5 instruments or less. Very well crafted hehe.

  • Spark man,Snake man,Needle man,Hard man,Top Man,Gemini Man,Magnet man and Shadow man all dislike this song.

  • FUCK YEAH ROCKMAN 3 !

  • fuck YES. It is time to play MEGA MAN.

    Ohhhh, the sweet nostalgia!

  • The eight robot masters were built to dislike this song.

  • Comment removed

  • So good.

  • 0.15 remind me of that "It's raining men" song haha

  • sighh..pure genius!!!

  • Mega Man for president

  • MM2 Dr. Wily Stage 1 gets so much hype. It's a great song but this song is superior.

  • @MrDonkDonkerson This song has been living in MM2 Dr. Wily's stage for too long!

  • @ShadowStrangle55 Did you mean "shade"? =p

  • @pelletier1986 Yeah, I did. Whoops.

  • Why dont they make remixes for clubs etc. I would love to hear such music when I go out.

  • This is way better than MM's 2 Willy's theme... it's overwhelming! What a feeling

  • This song is ultimate holiness in a game. Mega Man 3 has the greatest soundtrack on the entire NES.

  • Sorry OKKUSENMEN, but you lose this one

  • Love these chiptunes!

  • It gives the feeling of desparation, almost all hope is lost. FIGHT MEGA MAN! FOR EVERLASTING PEACE!

  • @Arc13 agreed. too bad the wily stages were easy as shit.

  • @panch0bill Yeah, well Wily seemed to spend more time on making the remixed stages with the Doc Robots extra difficult.

  • That IS a good one

  • why the hell did the japanese call megaman rockman?

he doesnt have rock powers or anything like that...

  • @ScorpionLuigi

Rock and his sister Roll. Rock and Roll.

  • @Gantrioch Before Roll was thought up, they decided on RockMan because RokuMan (stereophonic pronunciation) sounded like the cutest name. And cute suited the original design for Megaman.

  • damn, I forgot how awesome this theme was blame Mega Man 2 and 4 for that :P anyways...just wow its all serious and stuff almost makes you forget you're about to fight a frail old fart lol

  • it jus gave me the shivvers! :O

  • best mega man game

  • cheack || watch?v=OAFZ3mia_Iw || ;)

  • The Wily Stages in this game sounded very somber for a Mega Man game.

  • I don't think any other version can beat the NES for this theme!

  • @ThethisE1234

How about Wily 1 from Mega Man 2? Oh wait. They're both so awesome they can't be compared.

  • 1990 was the year I was born!!

  • noooooooooooooooooooooo liarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • hahahaha. Wanna see my ID?

  • ahh man!! this is an orgasm to my ears!! the 90's were the best and bitter sweet in gaming. (^_^)

  • Everyone hated fighting them AGAIN (Capcoms nasty all time habit), but we got used to it.

  • 1990 was the first time I played this great game.

20 years later, grown men like me and you want to still hear it. Epic.

Long live Megaman and Megaman X series.

  • I am trying to find a techno remix of this song but all I seem to find are the mega man 2 versions.

  • try "one last battle for great justice"

  • @Shinokyouku thank you but i dont think that was it. the one i am trying to find is at the end of a video that i found by CHamlin86. it is a vid called "That sure was a lot of fun!" the song starts at 2:58. if oyu know what it is that would help alot.

but i did like the music that i found from the suggestion that you gave me though.

  • Holy crap, man! I didn't know you actually viewed that video and liked the song! I made that remix myself, so messege me sometime and we'll see about getting you the full version. Or perhaps I could upload it to youtube.

  • Making a CD for when I get stuck in portland traffic. dam lesbian woman drivers in white subaru legacy wagons cause looooong delays. I'll be having this on replay the whole time! <3 megaman sooooooooo much!!

  • One of my favorite Mega Man themes. Dramatic and tense.

  • why is the title of this game [or whatever] rockman?

  • originally its supposed to be "rockman", just that american decided to change it to "megaman"

  • @nebvalkyrie thanks

  • also rockman is like rock mega man's old name

  • due to the fact they thought people will mistake the power ups for crack (Rockman drug reference)

  • @codedogs341 rockman is the japanese name for megaman

  • Japanese Version. Hence why another character is named Roll. Rock & Roll :/

  • Not that I'm griping, but I wonder why Capcom didn't drop that design for the MM games until MM7 for the Super NES?!

  • This would've been a great boss theme, as well.

    TO THE PHILHARMONIC

  • Is it just me, or does this sound like Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow music (at least at the beginning)?

  • @AkumaUchitoru

Ya maybe thats why I think I've heard it before. What part of the game do u think the beginning is from though?

  • It sounds like either a battle song or the end of the game, which makes sense when it comes to this game.

By the way, the composers might even be the same or somewhat copying someone else. For example, the forest song in Breath of Fire III is similar to Chrono Trigger, and the dorm music in Persona 3 sounds like Bitter Dance from Star Ocean 3. It's crazy...

  • it's from the stage when you're fighting the repeats of the eight robot masters in Wily's castle

  • 0:14 - 0:27 is my favorite part

  • Man they went to work on this song!!

  • i think i have said this before... megaman 2s willy castle 1 is absolutly epic and awesome...

but this si my all tiem favorite megaman song.... this seems more amture? i dont know how to describe it... its just beatifull for me..

    go megaman

  • i agree with this 100%. this song seems so dark and serious and just simply bad ass. and after i heard the wiley metal version oc remix, i have to say its better than the mega man 2 version in its own way.

  • This son is badass but not as awesome as awesome as Mega Man II's version of dr. willys stage... THAT WAS EPIC!!!

  • this is one of those song that needs those japanese lyrics

  • On the brink of inCEST?

  • This is the best video game song ever !

After 19 years, this music give me that same strange feeling I had first time...

  • ROCKMAN!

  • He might have been referring to the creator, who must have been intelligent to make such an amazing work of art.

  • Sure it takes intelligence. Melody takes quite a bit of intelligence, ESPECIALLY to make one this catchy. Rap takes very little intelligence most of the time. It's just talking to a beat.

  • Don't be so obtuse.

  • @4lbatross LOL so true, 8-bit music FTW

  • @4lbatross Listen to Why? or cLOUDDEAD

  • @shiftyshard Why would I do that, when I have this music?

  • @4lbatross because you can never have enough music

  • @shiftyshard That's not the point. I'd rather listen to this music rather than hardcore or rock. lern2assume.

  • @4lbatross OK well that's fine. But if you arn't prepared to listen to other music, then don't make ignorant comments such as "rap takes very little intelligent."

    Also, what does "lern2assume" mean?

  • thanks dude, this is the best song in the series imo

  • This sad tune is so full of win

  • ROKKKU MAAAAAAAAAAAAN

  • A lot of the Mega Man (E.G, before 8) soundtracks had the most distinct music for the time, the music was powerful--yet sad at the same time. Perfect examples of this would be Mega Man 1- Dr. Wily Stage 1, Mega Man 3- Dr. Wily Stage 2, and of course my personal 'sad and mysterious' favorite, Dust Man- Mega Man 4.

This is why I love Capcom, the tunes of the stages create a sense of sorrow and mystery behind the Robot Masters--almost as if they don't want to fight Mega Man.

  • Good list, except its missing Megaman 2, Wily stage 1+2, as well as woodman.

  • I really don't find Wily Stage 1 or 2 that sad, at least not as sorrowful as this one. Same goes for WoodMan. In my opinion, they're all really good songs, but with the three you've selected I really don't get the feeling that MegaMan or the Robot Masters are feeling regret for things they are doing. Rather, I get the feeling that MegaMan cares but rushes ahead to get the job done. With my selected tunes, it feels as if MegaMan will turn back any time, regretting defeating his 'brothers'.

  • It's missing Wood Man, but Wily Stage 1/2 was mentioned about 60 videos back.

  • Woops!

I commented on something that looked like an individual comment. YouTube's comment system sucks. :(

  • What about protoman's whistle?

  • this music is sad

  • Really? It gets me excited to fight the 8 bosses again.

  • damm i loved this one on the nes

  • This sound together with DR.Willy stage 1 in MegaMan2 is my personal favorites. Thank you for sharing it!

  • Best game ever! And this is on of the best song in it.

  • This one is waaay to overlooked. Seriously.

  • what the why are there not as many remixes of this as mm2 wily 1 this is just as if not more epic then that

  • I agree with you, but the other one is much more fun to play... maybe because of that

  • 2 and 3 are excellent, but I find 3's gameplay to be slightly more refind and fine tooled than 2's. It's very close, but I prefer 3.

  • SOLAR YAK

    WALKS FLAMES ETERNAL

  • Mega Man 3 is still my favourite of the entire series, it was the most fun of them all...

  • Yeah I agree, Mega Man 3 is the perfect Mega Man game.

When it was originally released, me and all my friends who had been playing 2 for a few years and were basically worshipping the series bought ourselves a copy each and only communicated by phone for the next week to exchange tactics.

Even before that an older friend had showed us a pirated japanese version. Never ever have I experienced a game release anywhere close to what Mega Man 3 was like. It was religious.

  • Me too. Once I got it that was it for about a week. Life stopped until I finished it. Those where they days...

  • You guys make me wish I was a few years older then I am. Megaman 3 was a big part of my childhood, but I was way too young to remember the release.

  • I'm sure there must be games you remember like we remember this one....

  • YES!!!! ppl that agree with me! 3 was better than 2 in every way! such memorable music ive beaten this game more times than any other game!

i got it back in the early 90's for the nes and just played it a couple weeks ago

  • Definetly the best of the series, no question...

  • 3 is obviously the best.

  • I agree, both are ridiculously good games but I had to actually look up the MM2 music while i still remembered the music in 3 from when i was little

  • This is the best boss theme in the Mega Man series and one of the best ever period.

As much as i love Dr. Wily Stage 1 in Mega Man 2, there is something more emotional and powerful about this song as you the player make your way through the last part of the game. Think about it. The mystery of Protoman. Dr Wily's betrayal and theft of Gamma. Fighting replicas of the MM2 and MM3 bosses. It builds up toward the longest and yet most epic game in the series. This song represents that feeling.

  • this is a stage theme.

  • correct sir thats what i meant

either way its a amazing piece of music

  • I really do feel what you're saying However I think they made a huge mistake when making MM3 because there was no opening cutscene to set up the story, which was sorely needed, before you start the game That made it a little tougher to understand the cutscenes during the game (esp as a kid) and I definitely couldn't think of the game in terms of a storyline at that point They don't even tell us who or what Gamma is and why he/it is important They just refer to him/it like we should already know

  • While I will agree that MM3 was not THE best of the series (I still like it, however.), it had probably one of the best soundtracks of the entire series.

  • Good point but to be fair, Mega Man 3 technically was pushing the NES to its limit graphically and with the size of the game, (thats according to Kenji Inafune who said surprisingly this is his least favorite Mega Man game) so fitting cutscenes in there was almost impossible but i can see your point. That's the only flaw in a otherwise great game.

  • What? Mega Man 3 is my FAVORITE.

  • I agree with you. The song is not only mysterious but also a bit sad which fits perfectly in to the situation with Protoman. What do you think about the theme from the first 2 Wily stages in Megaman 1? I absolutely love that song. I was only 5 when I played the game my first time, and as soon as I got to the stage I just stopped and listened to the music. It's not as powerfull as other Wily themes, but it's also filled with mystery and sadness.

  • the beggining sounds like a pokemon battle just started lol

  • That gives me an idea for a video. lol

  • There's something different about the music of Megaman 3, different from any of the first six games on the NES.

I think it's the mood of the music. To me, it's not epic or dramatic, just an attention grabber from the first Wily stage music you heard earlier. The music became more and more serious towards the end of the game.

I used to not like Megaman 3 all that much, but I changed my mind when I played it yesterday. More fun then Megaman 4 for me.

  • I owned Megaman 4, and it was great, but even though Megaman 3 has virtually no storyline at all, it... it just kind of seems better. More classic-y.

  • i agree.

  • Megaman 3 (Rockman) is the best :D

  • Rockman 3?

    lolwut

  • ...dude. Japanese name. Look it up.

  • 3 and 7, the best ones.

  • *couph*2*couph*

  • nope, wily 1 in 2 is good, but not as awesome as they say

  • Rockman V owned pretty well too (GB)

  • this is one of my faveourite themes to. It goes well with the game and level layout. and the enemies...all creepy.

  • The calm before the storm

  • Let's face it! Both MM2 % MM3 are waaay too good!! both in gameplay and music!

  • MEGAMAN 2 IS SO MUCH BETTER >:(

  • Ah, so lovely to see other people praise this song. Everyone always seems to gush over Mega Man 2's Wily theme, but this one matches the adrenaline with something far more...foreboding.

  • Seriously, Episode 2 is overrated.

Really, this theme has that feeling you're in a dark and scary place and you just have to keep moving, or that feeling when you know you're going to die and you're scared to tears, but you have to move on as you can't let your love ones down.

  • kinda laughed when I read ur comment.never played this but I was imagining that I gotta keep movin and not let my love ones down.lol

  • In some sense, is it really funny?

  • Well said! This theme is more emotional than the MM2 Wily theme. As great as that one was, this one strikes a deeper chord. The MM3 soundtrack is my favorite game BGM.

  • I totally agree. MM2 had great music, but 3's music was much more emotional and epic, not unlike the game itself.

  • Indeed. This song says "It's coming to end. Keep moving!"

  • I agree, This was my favorite Wily music as a kid and still it now, Like GreatFox42 said, this song has "It's coming to end. Keep moving".

This song to me gives me a feeling of hardship. You can't give up now. It also has that dark feeling, that kind of feeling when you're so far from home but there is no turning back. Brings back memories, I have to go dig up my NES now.

  • yes i agree 2 and 3 are my favorites out of the original series thus far, but my number 1 favorite is MegaMan 3

  • Everybody always favors Mega Man 2, but to me... Mega Man 3 is the best.
