  • The level design is brilliant! You don't see many 2.5D games really taking advantage of that extra half-a-dimension like Klonoa does. I find it amazing that so much depth of movement can be achieved with a character that can only walk left and right.

  • The Wii version is essentially a remake if it's too difficult to track down a copy of the original.

  • This game can be purchased on the PSN now. :) Playable on the PS3 and PSP.

  • A lot like Kirby meets A Boy And His Blob from NES.

  • ITS ON PSN!!!! WHOO!

  • I still have this :)

  • This was one of my favorite games growing up and should be considered a classic.

  • i love and i miss this game!!! is it available in psp?

  • Oh, how I loved this game! <3 So cute and really sweet design. I also loved the cute music. I still have this for PS1 and the second one for PS2

  • this game was fun as hell

  • so much nostalgia..

  • love this game :) I had the demo on the R4 Bonus Disc in 1997 :) never had it till today I bought it finally but it was for the Wii..... sadly I cant find the PS version :'(

  • 2D graphics in a 3D world - love it! reminds me of tombi

  • can you get download this game onto the psp

  • I wanted this game so bad when I was younger, but only had the demo so I played it like 50 times.

  • Glad this is coming to the ps3 as a ps1 classic.

"PlayStation game Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was recently re-rated by the ESRB for the PlayStation 3 and PSP. That means the 1998 original is a very likely candidate for a digital PSone Classics re-release. :)"

  • Reminds me of Kirby

  • coming to psn guy's

  • I've played this game since I was very young, and now that I'm older, I can appreciate how great games used to be. I'm so very glad I made sure to take extra special care of my copy. *Hugs game*

  • oh god the memories...

  • I love populous and pandemonium so much, but this game was without doubt the best gaming experience i ever had. I was so young when i played this I just assumed thats how games were, but since then I haven't played one game as deep or fantastic as this... the story is unbelieveable.

  • I still have this game :)

  • WAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!! XD XD XD Klonoa and Huepow are soooooo cute! XD I love Klonoa, but have only played two games (Dream Champ Tournament for Gameboy and the Wii remake). I never thought Klonoa would be so cute in the original PS1 version... And now I know! SQUEEEEEEEE!!! XD XD XD

  • I found this game in a thrift store of all places a few hours ago. Its quite fun. Its a very calm platformer, not unlike what you would get off a game like Kirby as far as mood and pacing. Its fairly easy, but still has a bit of challenge, and some interesting level and art design, to help carry it along. Its one of those games that just feels calming to play even though I hear its quite short.

  • @gumgum99 oh and this game is gigantic if i remember correctly..

  • @CaveRavier good to know. I'll be doing a playthrough on this game hopefully this fall since I'm enjoying this game quite a lot. ^_^

  • Is this game as fun as it looks? I downloaded it converted to psp format but wondering if it's worth the space.

  • @necromaster212121 I really like it.

  • @BlazeHedgehog I just tried it, it's pretty addicting.

  • @necromaster212121 where did you get the psp version? can you send me a link?

  • @Shannoncotto91 I converted the psx disc to an eboot

  • @necromaster212121 are you able to email it to me? jw :)

  • I first played/heard of it from a demo on a OPM disc. My friend and I loved it. Rented it at blockbuster the next day and beat it. AWESOME.

  • @klonoasfuckengay *Looking at your name* Did you make an account just to comment that? ...you're so pathetic :S

  • I miss this so much...I quite literally cry when I think about it.

  • Theres just no way Klonoa is a dude :P

  • Is it available on PSN?

  • This game was mindblowing. It was a challenge, and kept me more interested than Crash Bandicoot and Spyro put together.

  • ...it's the door to the shortest track in R4?

  • Logic tells me there will be no Klonoa 3 but damn it I'm still hoping.

  • 2:10 - 2:40 gets me every time. I don't know why, but it's just perfect. The remakes of things will never be as good as the originals.

  • Rented this from hollywood video from around the corner, back when I was a kid., shoulda jacked it lol.

  • I would buy it, but it goes for $50 on Amazon! And I have played the game before, by renting it when I was a kid, and I loved it.

  • I STILL HAVE THIS GAME LEGITIMATE,

Though the music of it fails sometimes, it can fall out.

  • PAC MAN HAT

  • At least this was remade for the wii.

  • This was the best game ever! i loved playing it when i was little gah i want my playstation an im gonna try my fucking hardest to get this game again it was awesome!!

  • Man, I tried hard to get this to work on my WiZ but I failed. Classic platforming at it's best!

  • Klonoa must have very active bowels... he's always talking about POO!

    listen:

    1:05

    2:26

Half of the emenies roughly resemble pokemon- look at all the fat pikachus, and the bouncing Jigglypuffs

also- why does the backing music sort of speed-up in blips at around 5 minutes... strange.

  • i only had the demo of this -___-

  • @imsorandome

    same here

  • ehheheheh this brings me back memories of this.

this is better than the one wii, but not as good

  • This is actually one of the greatest games ever made, period. I'm %75 sure I've still got my copy packed away somewhere.

  • Omg, I use to love this game

  • Isn't this an RPG game?

  • @DYLANDISASTERbz No. Not even close. It's a platformer. There was a sort of action RPG on the GBA, but it was kind of boring as I recall.

  • @BlazeHedgehog I thought I recalled there being a Klonoa rpg game...

  • @DYLANDISASTERbz Klonoa Heroes is an RPG, but this game isnt.

  • WAHOO

  • I was just trying to think of this game!!

I could picture everything in my head but just couldn't think of the name!!

I used to love this game.

  • @Cacatorak Your probably not the right person to ask but, is this available on Playstation Store?

  • @DYLANDISASTERbz I'm afraid not my friend. As soon as I found out what the game was called I instantly fired up my PS3 and went on to the Playstation Store, but sadly couldn't find it.

  • @Cacatorak Well that sucks. Is there any chance I can get the clean solid ps1 game itself?

  • @DYLANDISASTERbz I've heard that it's near impossible to find an original copy of the game, but I'm sure if you look hard enough there will be someone selling it online.

    Here, try this:

  • @DYLANDISASTERbz I was gonna post a couple of links but it won't let me. Try looking on Amazon.com and E-bay, I saw one on E-bay which looks quit promising.

Apart from that, if you have a Wii, there's a version on there.

Hope you get it, I know I want it!

  • aww i played the second klonoa first and in this, hes my little brothers age!

  • This game is so fun :D

  • does this game (or any copies of it) function on a north american system?

  • @sayastra

sure does. in fact that was how i first played it. try looking it up on ebay or something, though I'll warn you: if this game is rare enough you'll pay an arm and a leg for it unless you find someone willing to just give it away. Kind of like that old game bust-a-groove...

  • @TakaMitsukai sorry, the distorted voices led me astray- um.... actually i was looking at it on e-bay.... i am either going to use "shifty methods" OR more probable, get the much more affordable Klonoa 2 for the PS2 at a fifth the price first to figure out if i like this game (even though i find most games i can tell if i'm going to like them if a look up a let's play or something)

  • He's soooo cute ;D ;3

  • I hate how they changed his design in the 2nd one.

  • I still have my copy! I lost the instruction book though. Definitely my favourite game as a child.

  • Wow for a cute little thing that Klonoa is he has got some nasty teeth in that mouth!!

  • I used to have this game and have no idea what the fuck happened to it. Awesome though.

  • What I still don't get is, what is the thing falls on the bell hill?

  • @rolingpingu Lephise, probably.

  • I played this at 10 years old on my PS1, now I'm 17 and i own a Xbox360. And DAMN, I would fucking like this game to be on Xbox!!!

    Excellent and challenging game

  • You play this game like an asshole , must've had lots of practice ...good job.

  • omehgawd i remember this game! i played when i was like 5

  • i have this game and played it

  • i still have this game somewhere in my house

  • @assassinsu LOL XD Same

  • Great game, storyline is criminally under developed though.

  • I heard that Namco is not going to make more Klonoa video games. Is that true?

  • @NetworkDJ They probaly won't make Klonoa games again, they sell very badly, even the wii version. It's a shame because they ARE GOOD games. Amazingly good, It just annoys me that most people want to play shitty games like Call of duty these days. I'd buy Klonoa 3 if were to be made, Whether it's on the PS3 or Wii.

  • @jimftr Then....it's "R.I.P. Klonoa"? It's sad, I tell you. The worse games don't get cancelled, good ones get cancelled. WTF?

  • @NetworkDJ Exactly. So so true.

  • @jimftr Any news about Klonoa for PSN or Xbox Live?

  • @NetworkDJ No plans. It annoys me too. :(

  • @jimftr Damn. Oh well. I have this on my PSP, converted properly, so I guess that that's enough for me to be happy. :)

  • @NetworkDJ Me too! :D

  • @jimftr Cool! :)

  • The bestest game EVEEEEEER!

  • Ah memories...I remeber the ending of the game I almost cried, this game means much to me,brings good times back...

  • Ah memories...I remeber the ending of the game I almost cried, this game means much to me,brings good times back...

  • aww so cute

  • OH MY GOD!

I played this game one time when it first came out, when I was still about 6 years old.

I still remember this game almost 8 years later. I forgot the name of this game and it's been on my mind ever since the day I first played it.

Then I saw an article about this game in Nintendo Power and looked it up because the name was so familiar.

I'm going to buy this game as soon as I can.

  • klonoa kind of reminds me of blinx for xbox

  • woah!!! i remember this game now!!! i played this with my friend when we were little kids!!! i love this game!

  • Brought this game today for £1. Chuffed to bits as its in perfect condition with the point blank demo. Let the good times roll.

  • I bought this game for a friend of mine. He bought me 'Shadow man' in return...yeah...

  • i bought it a LONG time ago cant remember but now i can sell it for alot more than i bought it for

  • I got the game but it is a usa game and wont work on my Australian ps1 :( soooo sad

  • don't sell it! it's the best game ever!

  • I just got this game off ebay for 60 dollars with no case and no book.....

  • I love this game so, so much. I played it all the time as a kid, I've tried unsuccessfully for ages to find it again, I can't believe my family went and sold it back then! I didn't know there was a Wii remake, would be happy but I don't have a Wii. :/ Ah well, it's so nice to see this video, good times

  • Love this game, still have it ^^

  • theres a pac-man on his hat :).

  • when i was like 6 i played this demo n dreamed of geting it........ i played the wii version but im sure it will never be as awesome like the original i still have the demo 2 this day but i cant plat it anymore cause its scratched very badly:( oh well thnx 4 playing this so i can enjoy the original version:)

  • omg, love this game and i'm so stupid i sold mine in a cd case on accident at a yard sale. i still wonder if the buyer knew what they had.

  • Comment removed

  • I deny! It's a bijillion/5!

  • @Pr0d00d Isn't this suppose to be an RPG game though?

  • @Pr0d00d i can!

  • My cousin had this game, He said that it was fun a good game and when I played the wii version basically the remake of this one yes I do find it a good game. What caught my eye the most his how klonoa and his friend hewpoe look alot like sonic characters don't you agree?

  • I remember playing the demo years ago, awesome! :D

  • haha i have an original copy of this game in my hands right now :)

  • @Dreadfultime you know that game is very very VERY rare you should take care of it, it costs alot of money =]

  • I would sell my soul for this game. I remember it from when I was a kid, and I've been looking for a copy for a really long time. Augh. Well... maybe someday!

  • Selling your soul for a Playstation game doesn't sound very smart.

  • Hey, come on. I think it would fetch a good price.

  • @BlazeHedgehog it sure is :P it was the first ending that made some tears drop i am trying to get a copy too :P

  • You can have mine for a few thousand xD

  • @omgeodude you maybe in luck.. they released it for the nintendo wii.. i suggest you get a classic controller to make it as close to the original

  • @omgeodude just download a emulator and the game watch my tuturial on how to download it

  • @omgeodude hes right no soul how you going to move your body youre going to be like that dude from legend of zelda

  • @Henry100ful -- I s'pose that's a good point... b-but, what if I just sold my left one? Soul, I mean? I hardly ever use that one, and it seems a pretty small price to pay, don'cha think...?

  • @omgeodude It's on amazon, but I think it's over $30. And they re-made it for the Wii.

  • @weaselgopher I ended up getting the Wii version after all, yeah. I really shouldn't have been so grudging about updated graphics and other such wonderful luxuries; the developers were even kind enough to allow me to turn off the silly English voices in favor of the original-sounding audio! But I guess I just had hopes of owning the precise PS1 version of the game I played as a kid for a real long time, y'know?

  • @omgeodude Yeah, I get really nostalgic about my games :) I found a Bleem! copy of this game for my Dreamcast. It's the same game with slightly better graphics. I wish I could get it for my Playstation, but when I've got the other two copies, it just seems silly to spend $30.

  • I love Klonoa games.(By the way,Did anyone notice pac-man on his hat?)

  • T_T hace años no veía esto. me trae recuerdos

  • Me and my bro find this the best Ps1 game every to be created for it

  • i love this game it was the second ps1 game i ever got..... (spyro being the first) i was five and my grandmother thought i would like it. when i was ten i almost beat it i got up to the level where you go against the clown when he iz a turtle but my brother being three lost the memory card. i want to play the second but i never got around to beating the first

  • Thank god they remade this for the Wii.

now i can buy a copy for £15

  • One of my favorite PS1 games, wish it could be released on PSN so I could play it on the PSP!

  • i actually i prefer this one btter than the wii remake for some reason even though they are the same game

  • i just bought this today from a guy on craigslist for 5 bucks, WAHOO

  • a this game was great i miss it so much, my mom loved to play this with me when i was little

  • klonoa!! I remember,it's years ago

I loved, love and will always love that game! too bad I don't have it anymore :(

    wahoo!!

  • Monya!

    Monyoooooooh.

  • tch, klonoa is adorable... the game looks excellent, especially for an older game. wish I had a copy... look out passed over pawn shops and hidden game stops, I'm coming for you. XD

  • i just today finished whole game from ps1 emulator, fantastic game..

  • The Wii version only uses 2 buttons, for jump and attack. The PS1 controller had more buttons. Did the extra buttons on the PS1 version do anything besides Jump and Attack? Anybody know?

  • Klonoa 1 on the PS1 only has jump and attack. X or Triangle to jump, Square or Circle to attack, I believe (or something similar, anyway). Klonoa 2 does the same thing, but you can also press L1/L2 and R1/R2 to do pointless little animations.

  • The pointless taunts are awesome though. It just goes to show that along with Sonic and Snake who aren't even a part of Nintendo, their could be... Klonoa! :D

  • On the bright side, the wii version offered the original phantomile voices. I immediately changed it over after hearing the english "wahoo."

    *shudders*

  • @Just50001 yeah, same here XD

  • this should totally be available for download on psn for psp. That's the least they could do. :(

  • VERY Underrated game ! I love this Game !

  • With this game, the creators don't realise the majority of its fans are aged from 15-18, and not the 'child' audience they were originally trying to appeal to. They tried to 'cool' it up a bit in the Wii remake by changing character appearances to look more 'modern', not realising that the majority of the people who would buy it are actually looking for a game with style like that of Klonoa 1&2.

All this series needs is a game like Klonoa 1, but with more difficulty and a darker storyline.

  • No, as far as I've ever heard, it's because Klonoa's never really sold very well, at least in the states. They try and "cool him up" a bit to make the game seem more appealing to the mainstream.

  • I miss this game. I used to have it a long time ago but it broke. :(

  • Klonoa's a cat, not a rabbit. I went to wikipedia, and found this:

"Fans are frequently in debate on what Klonoa is, although it is generally accepted he is closest to an exotic cat. In an interview with Nintendo Power, he is stated to be a "Cool floppy-eared cat.".

    Interesting fact (wikipedia):

"He even shows that he has a disliking for carrots and would rather have a hamburger."

  • I remember hearing, that he's a Half Cat, Half Rabbit hybrid. (No joke.) and just saying...

  • I have an original copy, got it when it came out. I'm *so* glad I played the demo which inspired me to get it. The disc's a little scratched naturally, but it still works =)

  • Now, about the game...

I remember playing this game when I was young. It was in a demo, I can't remember which one was it, but it was fun to play it. I have an emulator (ePSXe160) and I'm trying to find an iso of this game. Does anyone knows where I can find it?

  • I've been reading the comments here, and I've noticed that there's one in my username. Ugh... that was my cousin who've wrote that. Somehow, he figured it out my password. Luckly, that will not happen again. I like to comment videos, but seeing one of my comments has a bad comment is uncool. I always try to write good stuff in comments.. Just for you to know...

  • This is a rather rare little gem from the PS1 era, and is one of my favorite games ever. [2]

love playing klonoa when I was a kid (anyway, my age in youtube is fake lol)

  • This is a rather rare little gem from the PS1 era, and is one of my favorite games ever. [2]

  • Oh Klonoa is SOO cute!!!

  • ah, the memories of my PS1:X

this was a great game :X, my first game ever

  • mine too... lol

  • Hey. I liked the first GBA game. It wasn't close to being as good as the original, of course not, but still, it was... decent.

Ok, but yeah compared to the original it was nothing.

Never played the PS2 or 2nd GBA game. Not interested in the Wii version, cuz of the voice issue. Plus, I dunno, I think this game actually looks better on PS1 than it does in the new version. Has a sort of old school charm to it, you know?

  • He sounds like Kirby

  • I remember renting this game and playing through the thing one weekend. Loved the experience, and it remains one of my favourite all-time platformers.

I have played the PS2 version, but indeed, it didn't really hook me like the original. Still, going to give the Wii version a try.

  • yea this is the first one i had this wen i was really yung when it first came out i played it on the playstation and it was my first game! (the first playstation!)

  • Just like Dark Cloud, this is a game a bunch of people got demos of and then forgot about/ didn't/couldn't get it! At least it's on Wii then...

  • this game is amazing! almost exactly like the wii one now, huh?

  • better than the wii one. the wii one makes his voice creepy

  • agreed.
