There were hundreds of thousands of Waffen-SS volunteers from all over Europe. In all, there were millions of non-German volunteers that served in German uniform. It could be the SS-Wiking Division, but there were dozens of different SS units of different nationalities. In fact, half of the Waffen-SS strength was in foreign volunteers.

Mostly they fought the Soviet Union, who people from around the world wanted to fight against. Others fought the west, like the Free India Legion.

Yes, but it wasn't simply a manpower issue. They couldn't take every volunteer because they didn't want to give away all of their weapons and uniforms. It wasn't even that close to the end of the war. Himmler genuinely liked having all sorts of foreign brigades fighting alongside German troops, and the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem was thrilled to get Muslims into the fight.

Yes. You're probably thinking of the Handschar Division, which mainly participated in anti-partisan activities and was one of the least effective units.

@the82spartans  the SS men from Scandinavia (most of them) where only fighting wanting to crush the Bolsjeviks one time for all . it was bad they lost in the end, for the world sake (my grandfather was one of them) but he served on another front i Russia
