Ryu vs M.Bison(Vega)

My friend had the original Japanese import version used with a convertor and the boxer was definitely M.Bison It was changed in the US and Euro versions.

Um...yes, it is. Vega's is Bison's name in Japan. Capcom USA supposedly wanted to avoid a lawsuit from Mike Tyson, due to the parody of him being Mike Bison, so they switched the names between Vega, M. Bison, and Balrog. Balrog is ,in reality, the narcissistic matador and not the boxer.
