You need to play Half-Life 1 once in your steam before the installation button becomes available. And as for movve, get Half-Life. It won't work with Counter-Strike v1.6

you just put hl1 nonsteam in steam as chortcut.

you wont get anyservers on it because it has a diffrent masterserver file!

let me explain....i found most of da people complaining dat dey can't find servers whien they start the game directly....i tried da same...nd came to knw day dey were true....i just explaind dat when u open the same shortcut with steam...u can actually open steam while u r playing,,and u also find servers.....dats the case!!

No you can either, get steam, buy half life (open at least once) download and install ESF, or You can have CS1.6 (Half life packed, open once, both half life and Cs1.6) then downlaod and install ESF

install any 1 of cstike 1.6 or hl1..then on same directory esf123 and then ecx rc2...den on esf folder install big pack...then install steam...then go to browse...then choose the icon of hl1 or cstrike..then run the game

Thats not using STEAM ^^

Thats just making STEAM run the non-steam game.

Meaning if you have the STEAM hack version you will only use that thing. IF you have the WON version you will have WON.

So this is basically a useless thing to do since in the end you only start what you have allready installed and not really run it through STEAM.

well as per ur comment...i'll say dat u play the same game using steam....by which u can access the chat room nd all the servers(except the original oneS)and can play online ...

Not really.

I can make a shortcut on STEAM to solitare or MSPaint.

Yet i wont be using STEAM when i run those from the STEAM menu shortcut. In the end the steamhack version allows you to see some servers. The original WON version doesnt show a thing.

Where your shortcut is placed is irrelavant.

Cause i tried this method with teh WON version and teh steam hack version. The results were the same as if i was running it from outside STEAMs list.

Well ESF doesnt really support Counter Strike.

It might work but in about 90% of teh cases it doesnt.

Tell that to the 50 people i know that came to the forums asking why the game wont work with Counter Strike.

Facti is mods have a problem with Counter Strike cause Valve seperated it from HL. Ever since CS became an independent game (with the release of CZ) Mods stopped working right on it.

My point still stands though. Doing what you did in the vid is pointless. Its just making a shortcut in the steam games list. Same as if youd make a shortcut on your desktop.

yeah it was really easy , but i have think if you install ecx rc2 you have much more characters to choice but you had only 9 , have you delete the others or what have you do , because i have do the same things as you i have install steam --- hl ---- esf123---- ecx rc2 ----- bigpack 8.4 but in my game are only 9 characters what t do becasue i will more and i have read in the website of esf there are more 31 character but i cant see them , what to do no???

so dude,,,,now install half life or counter strike

then in the same directory install esf 123

then same directory install ecx rc2

now in the same directory but inside esf folder...install big pack 8.4
