He's a gorgeous big boy, and I see settled in v.quickly, that's lovely to see. And they always find the squeeker and then squeek it over, and over, and over again! Hope he's still doing well. xx
I hope you get another grey. It's wonderful how they just settle down so quickly and so well. It's painful to lose our dog friends when they go, but it's so worth it.
Mich seems very at home with this family. I would guess he came from a foster home. We have 3 greyhounds and one of them we brought home from the tract the other two were in foster homes. It is easier when they come from foster homes but it wasn't hard for the track grey to adjust. He was glued to the TV because he had never seen one before lol
Greyhounds need love much more than they need space! Provided you give them two walks a day and a million pats, they would be content to live in a shoe box! Seriously, we have a retired racer and he is happy to spend 22 hours on the sofa. Considering the life that these dogs live as racers, it is astonishing how quickly and easily they become a family member. They truly are a special and amazing dog and everyone should have at least one!
he looks lovely! We're thinking of getting a greyhound, our old collie x GSD died recently and we're thinking of getting a new companion, and think greyhound may be the way to go! is he still a great pet?
@rockanrollruby oh yes he was a great pet!! Sadly though in December he was put to sleep. He developed a limp and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. The vet said he had a month to live and we had no choice but to follow the vet's advice and put him to sleep!! I will have another one or hopefully two together but in a few years time. Good luck - fully recommend the greyhound as a family pet. Take advice from the rescue people first though - and let them check out your home for suitability!!
He more or less came from the track! His keeper did keep him for his own pet for a little while because of his personality! Sadly he had to but put for adoption!! He was the first hound we borrowed for the week or so probationary period and that was back in early 08!
@ugotpimp apparently he finished racing and then lived with the owner for a year or so as he was one of the owners favourites. Sadly he died in December last year with osteosarcoma. Very sad but I like to think he had a great last two years with us - he was a complete character!!! Would definitely get another - probably two! My circumstances have since changed and I will look at getting another in a year or so!
He's settling in just great! I have more videos of him now doing crazy, silly and 'greyhound dumb' things! I'll pop a video or two up at the weekend!!
Mitch looks like a sweetie! Is he your first greyhound? Zeke is my first. He walked into a house with 2 cats that out-rank him! On his site, I have his life from the first hour onward. He's been with me about a year and nearly 3 months now. I'm still cutting the video of how he REALLY learned to play with toys... 7 mos. later, our new kitten taught him how to throw, catch and pounce! Thanks for the video. I just love greyhounds!
You are such cute parents - "He's just picked up his toy for the first time!"

Was Mich fostered first or did he come straight from the track? He sure seems comfortable in a household environment!
