Absolutely brilliant at about 4.10 - so true! I never hear 'free will' believers complaining about not having a choice to sin ever again in heaven.....Why aren't they worried that we could walk out of heaven in the future ?!!
The reference to Martin Luther by C.H.Spurgeon is from his famous work: Bondage of the Will.
The work of the Council of Trent was a major tactic of Rome's Counter Reformation with the teaching of the free will seen as a means to put a wedge in, and eventually divide Protestantism, along with other tactics.
Love these vids! Great Job! Glory to God for saving us, may He use us to spread his message to open the eyes of all those who would believe by the power of God and the regeneration of their hearts! I'm a youth pastor at a church that teaches free will, it's so hard for me to teach there! They know I believe in the doctrine of Grace and warned me that I shouldn't teach it. But I keep teaching it, cause I have to be obedient to God rather than men! The kids love the teachings! pray for me!!
This is incredible teaching- Glory to God!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please pray for me that God opens my eyes to His teachings!... I have never even heard these things before....
Lane, admittedly I just had to resist the temptation of using some "overly passionate" statements, to express how great of a video series this is. I am literally in tears...I feel an ever present fear of a Father...and unspeakable joy!!!
that last Spurgeon remark, was fantastic! the AW Pink example in the 2nd video, perfect, how can you beat the old guys? I have really wanting to grow in my understanding of mans nature at different stages, and I appreciate that you posted this one, great job Lane!
hmmm, what about the theif on the cross who repented beside Jesus. He was not renewed or baptised in the holy spirit, he just asked Jesus to remember him in heaven. was this the grace of God?
Yes remeber he at first was mocking christ then twoard the end he then believed in christ he was changed from a person who reject christ to man who belileved in him it was the regeneration of the holly spirit that caused this. He was infact renewed. look at matthew 27:44. Somthing happned where his heart was changed.
Amazing videos. This is the best explanation I've come across about predestination/election/salvation. I've been struggling to wrap my feeble mind around this concept, but this series really started to show how the scriptures really teach that only God can change our heart and therefore our will to seek him, never of our own works.
Martin Luther in "Bondage of the Will" made the point that man does have a will. He can choose what to eat or drink. What to wear. What to drive or where to work. Whether man has a will was never the argument but whether that fallen will could move towards God. That is where his will ends because the bible teaches that man's will doesn't want to choose God. When given a choice man will always choose sin because he loves it so much.
Jesus said also that 'there is nothing in man' 'It must be given him from above' Evil desires or good sound desires! Then there is no 'heart' in man that deside!
YOU GO WRONG where you say that the desire is more to go to work then to go to work! The desire to go to the beach stays much stronger, but we go to our work! You state the opposite! Why are we going to work? Because our mind tells our will to do so! The will is not submitted to our desire! That's why Jesus tells us to resist the evil spirit of that desire and that desire will flee from you (there is no desire in man, but it is made manifest by the sort of spirit we are listening to)
I think I can outdo pink in firmly saying that where you stand on this issue declares whether or not you know the Lord Jesus Christ and have actually been born again by Him, not by will of men, nor of flesh or blood but of God.
When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. Luke 11:22 - Jesus: The Ultimate Strong Man!
haha, it is still getting me, Lane. But I love it! Praise God that He is giving Mark Kielar the discernment and grace to speak out against Palagian/Armenian heresies.
Yeah, Raada. Only 4700 views! Man, I must be a hundred of them, no kidding. I just cannot drink enough of this series in.
