is it necessary to have ur horse wear boots on his back legs or are they alright to not have back boots?

it protects their hocks and is good for them when they use their back legs. some horses stop or turn hard and if they dont have back boots it hurts so they dont wanna turn or stop as hard.

If all you do is barrel race with associations (NBHA, ect.) Its ok not to have hind boots, Since they are all on grounds with good conditions. If you rodeo then you should have either boots or wraps on the hind legs because rodeo footing and arenas are alot of times not good so it puts alot more stress on the horses tendons.
