Thanks, Chris is a fantastic fingerstyle. The man has some long fingers and can reach those impossible chords. He uses an ebow alot with great results. Also plays Taylors most of the time. If you get a chance he will be in Kansas this month. Give a listen.

Prince was the first t well known artist that they made one for. By making guitars for and with well known artist the company became known. Before that they were about to go under. Even though the Taylor logo was not on Prince's guitar word spread and Taylor became a brand name.
I was fortunate enough to spend a week learning from him this past summer at Mark Hanson's Accent on Music camp. What a great player, teacher and nice guy! Note the foot pedal. He advises getting one of those to make sure your posture is consistent from gig to gig since you never know what the chair situation may be. I use a strap, so that's how I maintain consistency and he said that's fine as well.
I attended one of Chris' workshops and it was mind-boggling to say the least. Incredible fluidity and mastery of the guitar. I bought his instructional DVD - Contemporary Fingerstyle Workshop - which is highly recommended.
The guitar is steel string so it is an "acoustic one" to use your terms (both steel string and classical nylon stringed are acoustics). But the playing style is almost completely classical (I was a classical guitarist for 30 years). About the biggest difference in style is the use of finger picks (classical guitarists use shaped finger nails, steel string players usually use the pads of the fingers). But technique is really classical.
I got to see this guy play at a local music store as well, and I just sat there with my mouth open the whole time. Totally inspired me to never stop playing guitar too.
this guy is unbelievable. met him in person. super nice and cool. a must see.

His 12-String Workshop DVD is quite good as well. He shows how to make use of the octave strings separately.

I cannot help put noticing that his thumb looks very odd when he plays. I suppose it works for him, though.

Great! But is it a classic guitar or an acustic one?
