may I suggest a lot of torgue here, I have owned 4.0 litre ED Fairmont for the last 15 years, has covered 325K , only replaced fan belts twice couple sets of leds and plugs that it. Hauled kids all origianl and still going strong. Also have 2 Fairmont Au series one sold at 265K, replaced PS pump. Hope it works out. good posting 4/5
uhm, just because you can do a bigger drift it dont mean a thing, it coud just mean that maybe your a better driver now than you were before, but nice none the less, pretty smick looking engine bay, nice n clean the paint work looks pretty good to for the age if you dont mind me saying lol
how about you downgrade to a old 4.1 crossflow carby engine mate from the x series, there more power to be made there, the 4ltr chip and cam design holds it back, where as the old push rod crossflow there is no limit, and therefore more power can be made, but only differnce is a 4.1 will ping off its tits at 200kw,

@dbpmotorsport I generally agree with what you are saying, how-ever: The 4.0 is CAST IRON (alloy heads, cast block) too... it does weight a bucketload less due to being heaps smaller. The Ford V8 wasn't really worth buying over the amazing 6 until AUII with the hand built 220Kw mill...

Gday mate how ya going dont mind me i own an EA2GHIA with ED reco Head Genie Headers K&N the usual, and I know these cars back to front. Mate ive looked at that motor i think you just changed your rocker cover~ no affence or nothin. Power steering belt is still the early E-series type inlet manifold ~ ~ Thermostat housing is the same and early E-seies Radiator hose~ Thermos well everyones done that. lol everyone who owns an E-series has done i just put an AU rocker cover on mine lol so yea.
Im a mechanic buy trade and I can tell u for sure that it is a EL motor not just a rocker cover its just not running the BBM and serp belt as I did not have a manual PCM at the time to run the BBM and could not run the serp belt as dont hav A/C on bord and cant find a replacement pully. I hope this answers your questions. But I am building up a AU motor for it should be in it buy Sep. So far the EL motor in it has recorded a 13.99sec pass down the 1/4 mile at willowbank.
