  • Dang I remember this from when i lived in the menlo park from 1980-1986. This was one of those distinct images that couldnt be erased. I also remember KBHK TV 44. Voltron and He-man use to come on that channel. Miss the 80s!!!

  • Yeah, same here, LENT.

I miss those local PSAs, too. "I'm proud to be a..."

and the "Acceptance" PSA: "Steve's not only my best friend, he's MY partner!"

  • Wow...amazing how seeing that miniscule spot just opened the floodgates of my memory. Captain Cosmic...Chiller Diller..."I'm proud to be a Chinese/Japanese/Mexican/ American"...good times.

  • Pat McCormick Dialing for dollars

  • @douglascatti that show ruled.. we used to get ktvu, ktxl and kbhk on our cable system in a the small southern oregon coast town I live in until the early ninties. I sure miss it fetl like I was in the bay area...

  • @lockenjr yeah, great memories growing up with those channels, especially KBHK and KTVU. The early nineties I think they started phasing out the Independent Channels and good t.v.

  • @douglascatti yep the early ninties was the begining of the end for sure... the indies have since been gobbled up by if not fox mytv, cw and before that upn. gone are the late movies for ever on these channels becuase of amc, fmc and specialty channels like that...

  • If I'm not mistaken...The Warriors were affilated KBHK.

  • What I never understood:

KTVU is Oakland-based and KBHK is San Francisco-based, yet...

KTVU was affiliated with all things S.F. Giants and 49ers

KBHK was affiliated with all things Oakland A's and Raiders

  • How about the Warriors? Which one was affiliated with that team?

  • I remember that sign in, even though I was in diapers at the time.

  • Can't un-ring a bell, folks. Channel 2 ended up at Fox. However, when I was living there, Channel 2 was my station. Mickey Mouse, the Archies, and those Humphrey and Charley vignettes. I thought that channel was like New York's 9(WOR) or 11('PIX). Who knew they were going the Fox route?

Nothing like good old KTVU in the 70s.

  • You said it brother..!

  • To me i have to agree with everyone this wasa powerful 5 second

  • Simple but powerful

  • one of the best jingles....

  • Hey i b seeing this on commercial i be laughing at this i agree with miznelson on dat one

  • That's a very powerful five seconds, coming from someone who was virtually raised on this station. Thanks for the clip.

  • raised on this station, ha. yeah after school it was scooby, gi joe, wacky races, all that stuff; what else? oooh dailing for dollars and ultra man.....

  • When Dennis Richmond retires I hope they pay tribute to him his last night. Unlikely Elaine or Leslie will come back but it would be nice to see Pat McCormick again, those two guys are the first that come to mind when I think of Channel 2.

  • I loved this blue logo and the little jingle! I grew up on this (long before Fox and Fox Kids ruined the station). Let's bring it back!

  • They've been using it in some of their 50th Anniversary promos lately...

  • They have indeed :)

  • This ID was a part of my childhood. It reminds me of the days of Bits & Pieces and Brady Bunch reruns. Boy do I miss the pre-FOX channel 2.

  • It's there! There's Only One 2. I've been looking for this one for ages. Thanks!

  • I remember this very well. If there are any other verions out there, please post them. Thank you.

  • Death to FOX!

  • Wow I feel old as hell watching this! I'm shocked I remember it! Good ol KTVU 2! Thanks for the memories and for reminding me of my age! LOL

  • God I miss this station. They were the risk takers and had the best cartoons and kiddie shows.

  • Thanks for posting this! I sort of stumbled upon it by accident. Gosh, I remember this now that I've seen it again. The good old days of KTVU!
