awsome dude. i have a "exposed" portafilter on my machine and i use the Kyacera ceramic hand grinder (great grinder), i usualy call it a "naked", but exposed is much more profesional, i will call it that from now on. definatly put more vids on this subject in the future if you can because i think there are a lot of things that are just great about this method. i personaly could never go back to spouted.

would you recommend using such a portafilter on a semi-manual say like a Silvia or francix! X model ?

Sure, don't see a reason not. But I prefer exposed portafilters for evaluation purposes; I stick to spouted PFs for shot pulls I drink to enjoy.
