  • Well the J58s are very expensive to operate. The TEB produces a blueish exhaust. Often the SR-71 seems docile at air shows. Many do not understand the variable bypass engine systems used in the SR-71. This is not an air show plane. But at over 100,000 feet and in full by pass, and in ram jet effect. Now it is impressive. 4.2 mach +

  • Appears that they were not using the normal shots of TEB at this time.

  • @Pasovineyard What else would they use? And what makes you think they weren't using "normal" TEB?

  • Why are the tails canted inward?

  • I was on the flightline this very day launching the T-38 Formation. I was crew chief of tail number 64-13281. Did you get any footage of the T-38 Formation?

  • loud... and that was without full burners...

  • Unfortunately, between this and the other videos that is about the extent of my SR stuff. Really too bad because I got this new camera about the time the plane was retired and was never able to use it! This was an older camera and I hopped it up some to bring out the best pic and sound. Of course no video could ever capture the grandeur of that plane!

  • @rdean500: Old camera... 240p.... and I still get a thrill from the image of this bird doing a low flyby.

  • MORE MORE MORE!!! I MUST SEE MORE!!! lol nice shot of the buttes btw ;)
