You are right! Now this station is Mong Kok East, but i think the people call this station "Mong Kok" in long time ago. (like you take the Red Van will said Mong Kok Station, not Mong Kok East, right? ) You can't change in short time!!
For the loco was in platform area; also the engine power of the loco was in low output, for too many EMU passenger train in Hong Kong (about 2-5 min in the busy hour).
So the Loco can't run too fast or too slow. The EMU train will have limited speed which behind the Diesel Loco, too.
A freight train in the subway? That's unpossible.

It is not Mong Kok station now, it had change the name into Mong Kok East. Because the MTR and KCR merger on 2-12-2007

Is the first train an electric or a diesel? It looks like a diesel, but it's very quiet.
I like those freight cars too! Kind of like the wood cars of days gone by here in the US.

It is the GM EMD diesel loco G16.
