Haven't found a mine yet, but I stumbled across a large village in a new world. Talk about a load of resources. There are farms lined with logs and 6 homes to choose from. haven't even gone underground yet in that one.

Replace the 1.9 pr3 jar with the minecraft jar. It's basically the same as installing a mod.

Coe, there IS a way to ensure that you are always going the right direction.

Blocks orient precisely N-S/W-E. Thus, if you follow the edges of the blocks, then when you reach shore or somewhere you wish to turn, and place a tower there with signs pointing towards your home (and maybe distances too), then you turn there or whatever. You will always be traveling a straight direction.

The compass couldn't be used to go back to your island. The compass points to the "north pole" which is where you first spawned. Once you get there, any direction directly away from it would be displayed as the needle pointing directly down.

The best thing I've found to bring in these mines is glass panes. They let you block off rooms and see what's spawned in them, and if you need to get out through the ocean you can build them in a spiral to give you breathing space.

Coe, I know you dont know me but I thought you should know this. While i was exploring my world, I found a lot of really large oceans, then I would find a really large island and on the other side was more ocean. Then I kept going and the same thing happened over and over. Finally I did find a bigger continent but it took a long time.

Not sure if you changed it in the future of the video, but when you showed your inventory around 17:10 and talking about what you had, you could turn the gold and iron into blocks and save yourself a lot of room.
