  • Feels so good to be related to this man. Hands down.

  • DAAAAMN He looks like Tori Spelling. LMAO!

  • Happy birthday, dear Boris. Never forgotten xxxxxx

  • I'm in love with him.

  • You all are wrong. Béla Lugosi is the king of horror, Karloff is the prince.

  • @RandomChaosprod C'MON, KARLOFF IS THE KING!

  • all i know is that as a child i was terrified of Frankenstein......I thought he was real and I could not watch him at night....I also couldnt stand the street sweeper coming down the street. I thought if you were too close to the street the machine would suck you in

  • Please do not fight over who is the greatest,please!!!! I love them both!!!!! Batsy Beve

  • HE'S MY 1ST COUSIN THRICE REMOVED!! :D

  • Boris Karloff, was the greatest actor who ever played the character of the FRANKENSTEIN monster. Though in the black and white days of the movie, unlike today with all the gimmicks, computer special effects, really gory scenes, Karloff\

    took you on a horrifying suspenseful journey strictly on his characterization of the portrayal based on genius and terrific acting ability. The horror films of yesterday were suspensful and you sometimes were routing for character like karloff's monster. (bravo!)

  • great video, love the music.

  • between chaney, karloff and lugosi and their portrayals, the best of their generation.

  • what about bela lugosi?

  • Boris Karloff narrates "Peter and the Wolf," 1940s recording:

    watch?v=EmgNPA5EwmM

    thanks and regards.

  • One of the greats.

  • i must strongly disagree with the title of this video the king of horror IS and ALWAYS will be Bela Lugosi.

    if i recall correctly Lugosi played the frankenstein monster better than Karloff but im not saying Karloff was a bad actor im just saying that the title "The King Of Horror" belongs to Bela Lugosi.

  • @cairnzie

    Are you kidding?! Lugosi played the monster in F. meets the Wolfman, and he sucked!!! Lugosi is a great actor, but he wasn't anywhere near as good in that role as Karloff!!!!!

  • @whirlwind6 Lugosi didn't suck as the monster...He played it like the director told him to. The monster was supposed to be blind in that film(a plot left over from Ghost of Frankenstein) and he was supposed to speak in Ygor's voice. However, t the last minute, Universal decided to cut all of Lugosi's lines, and leave the reason the monster stumbles around unexplained. If you watch it with that understanding, you see that he's giving a great performance. But I do still prefer Karloff's monster.

  • @whirlwind6 Excuse me?!? The King of Horror will FOREVER be VINCENT PRICE! Lugosi and Karloff and Cheyney a very close second.

  • @TWeisbergPhoto2 yeah, but vincent price is so likeable, he ca't intimidate. karloff has those eye shadows and that shit eating grin.

  • @CHAOSin8bits Vincent Price was completely intimidating. He may have been charming, but it was a seductive charm.

  • @whirlwind6 i know no actor was as good as karloff for frankenstein nor will their ever be but because of many roles such as dracula and many others boris karloff must share the title of king of horror with bela lugosi.

  • @cairnzie fukin' bela lugosi was a drunk morphine-addicted mess. he was good in most of his acting, but karloff lived long enough to host and act in black sabbath

  • @CHAOSin8bits Bela fixed himself by going to rehab. He didn't just let the drugs take over him.

  • great music selection

  • "William Henry Pratt" (bka) "Boris Karloff":

    NOBODY played "The Monster" like him!

  • First pic... the mummy... it's Lon Chaney Jr...

  • "Karloff, that limey cocksucker can rot in hell for all I care!"

    - Bela Lugosi

  • @SamFisherCell suck my balls

  • @SamFisherCell HE NEVER SAID THAT HE HAD TO MUCH CLASS THATS A LINE FROM THAT BULLSHIT FILM ED WOOD

  • @mavivirgie Whatever, it's a cool line.

  • @SamFisherCell Actually, according to Karloff's daughter, and Lugosi's son...The two men(despite popular belief) did not hate each other, and got along fine on the films they worked together on. No, they did not become good friends, but that was simply because of lack of mutual interest, do to their different backgrounds(Karloff was British and Lugosi was Hungarian). Lugosi did have a little resentment having turned down the monster, but he didn't despise Karloff.

  • whover got the credit, boris karloff got the top billing. bela, however great he was, got second billing the rest of the years. it was not whether or not who got the part of ''the monster'' in 'frankenstein', 1931. it was just the luck of the draw. bela was hungarian, karloff was english it was just luck. legosi was easily as good an actor as karloff.

  • Bela Lugosi is the master of horror

  • i think karloff was very handsome...like a 40's george clooney...similar features. and a sweet sweet guy. and classy.

  • best frankensteins monster ever. i think watching in black and white makes it a bit nightmarish .

  • hell yes boris karloff is truly the greatest name in horror.

  • 1:10- best shot!

  • * Boris Karloff

    * Bela Lugosi

    * Ferdy Mayne

    * Vincent Price

    Today, i miss this icons...

  • The name of this song?

    "Toccata" from Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750)

  • tehheee <3 it!

  • is the mummy at the beging lon chaney jr.

  • Yeah , Lon Chaney Jr. was Kharis(except in "The Mummy`s Hand" , the first film of The "Kharis Saga" where stuntman Tom Tyler played Kharis & though Chaney`s Portrayal created the stereotypical Horror Film mummy , many find Tyler`s depiction more frightening).Karloff was Im-Ho-Tep in The 1932 Film simply titled "The Mummy"(not connected to The Kharis Films other than a few flashbacks , Kharis & Im-Ho-Tep both having been high priests in life & England , America & Egypt all being locations.
