  • @thomaskivi the ohter is much faster

  • Helle @badmephisto and @akakooldood i think i know a better way to do "Headlights" . It will take 16 moves but its very easy to remember, goes like this:

    R U2 R´ U´ R U´ L´ U2 L U L´ U L when you start you need to hold it so the 2 incorrect corners is in the right side :-D

  • instead of doing F' f why not just move a middle slice

  • @dmr778810 true you should try that. I did and it felt weird but i bet if i practiced it i could do it smoothly.

  • Shorter algorithm for the symmetric cross. Hold the cross so that the yellow sides are on your left and right. Then do R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R'

  • 54 ?

  • what speed should i be getting with 2 look pll and oll? if i practise for around 2 months?

  • 7:45 that's just wrong... XD

  • Theres a mistake in the algorithm where u solve the above yellow layer .the one apart from chameleon i.e R2 D R' U2 R D' R' U2 R' is what u mentioned but what u actually did was R2 D' R' U2 R D R' U2 R'

  • for the diagonal corners orient

if you start with the yellow facing cube to the left (mirror of your start)

    you can use (R' F) (R B') (R' F') (R B)

this might seem bad at first, but its very intuitive

  • Just wondering.

Why are the brackets? in the algs?

  • good tutorial. thanks, it helped me alot!

  • THIS ISNT ALL OF THE ALGORYTHMS FOR 2LOOK!

  • thanks man, your videos help a lot

  • i found a better and easier method for headlights, have them facing to the left and do

    (F {R U R' U'} {R U R' U'} F') U2 (F {R U R' U'} F')

  • wait is there a part 2 if there is plz give me link

  • cubewhz .com

  • What cube is he using in this video?

  • Sometimes speedcuber can do the OLL and solve the cube without doing the PLL step...

  • why is there a hater in this video?

  • for chameleon I do- rUR'U'L' URU'- A much faster way

  • For the symmetric cross turn the cube so that the headlights are at the right and left and do sune twice

  • the best website for all ill algorithms is this one cubewhiz. com/oll.html

  • i don't get the point in the parentheses?!

  • @xxxslayerxxx666 I think it's just to help make it easier to memorize the algorithm

  • 4:59 the lazy man algorithum u can just do f RUR'U' s' RUR'U' F' s' is the layer between front and back face you turn it as F so you turn like F' but you use the layer between front and back face thumbs up so ppl can see

  • I found out 1 algorithom for all cases, make this the top comment and i;ll tell you how

  • i found an easier way to solve the second problem he shows... You hold it the same but do the alg. "R U' L' U R' U' L Hope this helps thumbs up so people can see it

  • everytime i do 5:40 one wihte piece is out of its place? hellp :P

  • Hello @badmephisto... I've figured out an easier way to remember the algorithm of "Headlights" at 5:40 [(R2 D) (R' U2) (R D') (R' U2) R'], it goes something like this---->

    x R2 F (R' B2) (R F') (R' B2) R'

This algorithm is very much similar to the one in your beginner's method video, which is algorithm for Corner Permutation of Last Layer which goes something like this---->

    R' F (R' B2) (R F) (R' B2) R2

We just interchange the first and last moves of the algorithm i.e, R' with R2.

  • @akakooldood Hey that's actually pretty good I like it!

  • @badmephisto Wow! Thanks! :D xD

  • @badmephisto Just notice your channel name. You also have an iOS app for 2 look oll, ill, and pll, correct? Just a suggestion you should group the cases better like all L cases together all Lightning cases together and so on

  • @samwsweet type f2 i think or alpha 5. You can buy them at cube4you.com

  • @badmephisto I know this comment is late, but an easier chameleon way to memorize is hold the 2 incorrect corners on the F face than use the 2 look pll alg that switches 4 corners vertically, but after u2 R' do U' instead of U to fix the orientation, this is a helpful trick to those that already know 2 look pll so the alg would be x' [(R U' R') D (R U R')] u2 [(R' U' R) D (R' U' R)]

  • @badmephisto what cube do you use and do you think the dayan lingyun v2 is a good cube for a 45 sec average?

  • @badmephisto for the case where you have 2 adjacent angles, you can put the small L in the top left corner like the beginners method then do - F U R U' R' F

  • @1cy1nsanity1ternity i mean f'

  • @akakooldood ya know whats even easier imo: 2l U R' D2 R U' R' 2D l' x' cuz i hate the F and B's in the other one :D

  • @Jeremyvp what is x?

  • @akakooldood What does 'x' mean?

  • @JAK1234jr

X is a cube rotation... Clockwise(when facing the right face of the cube) rotation of the cube in X axis... Check the notations on google or badmephisto's website

  • @akakooldood thankyou, your alt, alg for headlights really helped me with my 2loll

  • is this written down anywhere?

  • For the adjacent edge orienting, I prefer to use r U R` U R U2 r`

The same alg, just diff orientation. Hold so the adjacent ends look like an L.

  • Lol 0:51

  • Does anyone find that in the case of the non symmetric cross, sometimes you have to do that algorithm twice?

  • I don get this small f thing can anyone eplain to me what this means

  • @ThePsYcHoTiiC If it's a small f then you rotate the front and the middle layer clockwise. If it's a small f prime then you rotate the front and the middle layer anti clockwise :)

  • this is the best tutorial i have ever seen ...

    great job...

but i noticed a very minor mistake...

in the fast man ways to solve at 4:20 the algorithim u say and the one u do is a little different

    the one u do is

    (R U2) (R2 U') (R2' U') (R2 U2 R)

but the one u say and the one on the screen is

    (R U2) (R2 U') (R2 U') (R2 U2 R)

except that ur teacheing and ways are flawless

  • @lpa1992 well R2' and R2 are the same, just the use the one you feel more comfortable with. Because sometimes your fingers are in a position where its hard to do and R2'

  • i was hoping to only have to learn 2 look oll then use the beginner's method for the rest but i guess i need pll too.

  • at 0:50 hahaha

  • @SBruce82867 and i get sub 40

  • For the two pieces adjacent to eachother, I believe I might know a simpler algorithm, with the figure looking like a backwards 'L' on the top face. It goes a little somethin' like this: (F U R U' R' F'). It'll get you to that cross figure on the top layer.

  • can you make a video that shows us the full oll?

  • @enigeto if he does ... itll probably be like an hour long video

  • i love the way you say chameleon (:

  • but for some reason the f2l takes me longer than the ''BEGINERS MODE''

  • @johnnycodpro if you practice f2l over and over and learn some f2l practices it will drastically improve your times,i thought that too at one point but now i average 15 seconds or less :-)

  • @merrygoround6707 alright ill pracitce thanks :D

  • bro u rock just cause ur videos are so good im going to memorize all 57 algs and tell all my friends

     thx

  • i am near crying and my fingers hurt like hell but i can´t stop!!!

  • the headlights alg doesnt work for me,

  • Does anyone know where I can learn the 57/21 OLL and PLL algs? who ever replies first, I will sub! :)

  • @Doodler175 Go to cubewhiz.com and on the side of the page there is OLL algs and PLL algs. There is also F2L algs if you need them.

  • thank you thank you thank you!!!! you helped me remember most of these algerithems!

  • can you do the movement more slower?

  • I use the following algorithm for the Sune: U R U' L' U R' U' L (with the correct yellow corner in the bottom right)

  • Nice video.

For the anti sune I prefer using the L' U' L U' L' U'2 L holding it with the corner in the bottom right. This alg is just the opposite of the normal sune alg ( R U R' U R U2 R' )

  • dang, i love how this dude is so good that he knows how to mess up the cube to show us the next case

  • the 57 algorithms do take some time to learn but because most of the triggers are similar meaning a lot of the cases can be learned and memorized pretty quickly. When learning this i liked Bob burton's speed cubing page it has all the algorithms laid out nicely in groups with similar cases. OLL takes a couple weeks to learn. i suggest learning around 3-5 new cases a day and practice all the cases you know many times throughout the day.

  • thanks dude your videos are very helpful!!!!!!!!11

  • just thought id point this out.... watch the video over again, but, watchit untill the very end this time. lol....

  • You are awesome!!! Thanks, man!

  • Comment removed

  • @megaluckotheirish small f means to rotate front and middle layer together

  • Thanks for the tutorial!! Helped a lot, just one question..(i barely learned this so don't yell at me) how do i read F R U R' U' F' etc? Please respond back to me! Thank you :) +subscribed

  • Great tutorial! I totally understand this :)!! Thanks!! can you please tell me what F (R U R' U')F' means? I can't seem to find any on youtube..can you tell me what they are called so i can learn them please? thank you! don't flame at this comment...

  • headlights algo is wrong....the one ur doing is correct but the algo written in the descrips wrong

  • @clydecazenas dont u mean chamelon

  • i learned how to do OLL using only the sune and anti-sun algs. for each case, you simply perform a series of sun and/or anti sune broken by a U turn. an example for the headlights case (everything oriented correctly except 2 corners facing you:

    S (sune) - U - A (antisune)

this will orient the top face, and it's easier to remember than a unique alg for each case, but you obviously loose alot of time since 7/9 cases require 15 moves to orient the top face. S+U+A=15 moves in all but 2 cases :\

  • @bennyherber thats used in some beginner solutions =)

  • @spiegle09 yeah, it's part of most advanced beginner methods. i have now learned full 2 look oll. 2 look pll also done except the case where you don't have 2 identical adjacent corners. i <3 cubing :D

  • what do you do to align everything after the 2 look OLL? Do you do PLL?

  • Man Your Videos are all on favorite page :)

  • does is exist an algorith with R2 D2 ? :) STARWARS!

  • hello this tutorial is kicking ass!!! thank you so much im gonna get my speed cube this week so i want to learn this before but i have a paper with the algorithms with me so i can train all the time :DDDD

  • i'm sorry for the last comment i found it.

  • can you please make a printable page, like the one in begginner's method?

  • i didnt have any of those cases

my top layer looks like a capital i

  • I use the superman algorithm that's like this: R U R' U' (R U' R' U2)*2 R U R' .. is it alot slower?

  • for the headlights case, you can also use the algorithm:

    (R U R' U') (R U' R' U2)*2 (R U R')

  • HAHAHA. i laughed at 6:49 XD

  • 5:47 why there's SORRY?? hehehe

  • what cube do you use???

  • I UNDERSTAND! WEE~~~<3

  • @OrionLong no there is lol. that's called the full OLL but for that you have to learn 57 algs. for this, you only have to learn 9. so choose :P

  • @Emiljus instead of learning 57 algs just use the 2 look. Its only 1 second slower

  • You know the OLL one where you have the cross and you have two headlights facing opposite ways? Well, the one you showed, (F [R U R' U'][R U R' U'][R U R' U'] F') i think there is a faster way. If you hold the two so they face towards your left and right, you can just do, (R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R') It cuts down on 3 turns, so, I just wanted to let you know that, you might already know but yeah...

  • hello bad mephisto. can you tell me what cube i have to buy ? i have a diy type A . couse in my country we don´t have possibilities to choose .. but, i want to.. buy one different , more fast in ebay. can you tell me, please ?

  • @OrionLong it's just longer, and it takes 3 times for each way instead of an inverse version.

  • well ther is a guy who use the same there down...

  • i think the sune is faster as R U´ L´ U R´ U´ L

and the mirror the same, doesnt need adaption for me

  • whats the point for the () in the moves. I know people use to repeating moves. but for nothing?

  • If you aremaking tutorial try not to be so fast because if some1 tries to see what you are doing they have to slow down the film in movie editor

  • For sune i use : R U' L' U R' U' L U.

For Anti sune i use it x2.

    found it myself.

please reply if its faster (:

  • another good algorithm for the anti-sune that i use is to hold the oriented corner at the top right and do: R U2 R' U' R U' R' and its very easy to memorize

  • @Yenfire

    Yep, I was noticing that. Ive been doing R' U' R U' R' U2 R ( a sune)

When doing this on a oriented side, it will get an anti sune, so I realized Id just reverse it to solve an anti sune. But I think the one in this video is slightly faster.

  • What cube should I use?

Should I silicone spray my original cube by Rubiks or buy a speedcube?

  • how do you memorize these??? repetition?

  • @thefindingperson afraid so...

  • For the Sune algorithm, I learned it a different way from your Beginner;s method video.

    Instead, I go (R' U2 R) U (R' U R), but with the cube in a different position than the one demonstrated.

Is it fine to just stick with the algorithm I am more comfortable with for the 2look OLL?

  • thanks so much!

  • Hmm..

    The algorithm that goes: F (R U R' U') (R U R' U') (R U R' U') F' (14 moves)

It could be done with fewer moves, (But I'm no expert, I just happened to figure it out by accident some time ago)

    U R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R' (12 moves)

You can make it 11 moves (Eliminating the first 'U') by just turning the entire cube =x

Sorry if this has already been said, but I just felt the need to put it up here =x

  • you right handed

  • ty wery much For helping me :D

  • can you make a vid on how to do the l f f` l` r r`

  • is it natural for a speed cuber to not use the f2l method and go with seperate parts? because i plan not to learn it because it is just too difficult to understand... plz reply thanks

  • @Lekopetro no, everyone uses f2l. everyone.

  • @badmephisto not necessarily. People who use intuitive methods for solving the 3x3 may use a method in which they build bars and matching colors up, instead of using F2L.

  • @badmephisto at 5:30 you say to do (R2) but the algarithm on the screen says ( R2' ). also the printout on your website for the 2 look OLL says to do it one way but it always comes out wrong when i do it .

    Please help =/

  • @alcosher R2 and R2' are exactly the same moves (face makes a 180 degree turn), it doesn't matter in which direction you turn it. Maybe he thought it's easier to learn to do it counter-clockwise, hence the R2'...

  • @JeZii Ah yeah sorry i do understand now. It's just that I have been doing the cube for hours and hours every day and I am getting confused with all of the seperate algrithms. Thanks anyway

  • @alcosher Yeah, I'm an early beginner and struggling to memorize the algorithms too... I guess you just shouldn't rush and try to learn about 1 algorithm each day... Otherwise you'll be totally lost unless you have an incredible memory!

  • @alcosher Just keep trying, I learned the 2 look OLL and PLL in about 2 days of heavy cubing.

  • @badmephisto do you use 2 look or full?

  • @CSmodder he uses full

  • @badmephisto Hey there! I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos. They are so helpful and I greatly appreciate them!

By the way, what country are you from?

  • @Lekopetro the replay button is your friend

  • @Lekopetro i thought f2l was hard for the first couple days and ur times will be slower at first but in a week of practicing a lot i cut my time by like 20 seconds

  • you teach this better than anyone

  • I just oiled my cube It works great though it sometimes overturns.

    I used vegetable oil!!!!!!

  • @fireboy1008 ussually a bad idea to use oil in your cube. it can leak out and ruin your stickers, you should clean out all of the oil with soap and water and use silicone spray instead.

  • @1pdc1 it did leak out a little but all I had to do was wait for 3 days... now it works perfectly

  • great vid... I learned how to solve the rubik's cube the beginner way in your other vid. I also now know the F2L and the 2 look oll. Anyways can you send me an actual link to where you got your cube not just the cube4you website.

  • should I learn 2-look oll and pll at the same time?

or should I practice 2-look oll first?

  • There's another way to solve headlights :

You hold it so that de headlights are to the right. After that, you do :

    (R, U2,R', U', R, U',R') (L',2U, L, U, L', U, L)

I personnally found that is easier, even if a bit longer...

  • 0:52 lol

  • another alg for symmetrical cross is hold it so the cubies that are meant to be facing up are facingleft and right, not towards you. and then use R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R'

  • 5:32 R2' (prime?!?) xD mistake!

    basmephisto you're mah sensei... thanks

  • I found a way to remember the headlights algorithm, after the R2' D R' U2, with that U2 you remove an f2l pair, track that f2l pair around the cube and the last step is to insert that f2l pair back again.

  • Do you know algorithms for the headlights, chameleon, and diagonal corners orient if the corners are already where they belong, just not the right color on top?

  • 0: 12 - 0: 14 is funny LOL!

  • @Nexnaught And 0: 52 is funny, too

  • great job!

  • At 3:50, you can just do R' U2 R U R' U' R U R' U R

It makes it much easier, and is done much faster than it would seem by reading it.

  • @xKMHxI2EAP3Rx thanks alot easier.

  • I like how you used cars as a comparison xD

  • Thanks.

Do you use a headcam? lol

  • @vDubrivation

Believe it or not he does. He has headphones on, attaches the webcam on top with the screen in front of him showing what he's recording. Occasionally, he looks up to make sure he's at the right angle.

  • Who cares u creep go get a life my fish isnt even as boaring as u (its dead)

  • How does using this help solve the top face? it still isnt positioned correctly

  • go on to his 2 look PLL vid its solves the cube once u have done this step

  • uhh.. i wanted to list on paper all the algorithms but when i look back it filled the whole page with a picture and algoritm now it looks like work instead of fun

  • its fun when u get through the work

  • you are good thank

  • Hi, I figured out a different way to remember your Headlights algorithm:

    R' (R' D) (R' U2) (R D') (R' U2) R'

This is way easier for me to remember it (and if you find it helpful and believe others could benefit from it, feel free to add it to your algs. list).

    Thanks for your great videos.

  • i love it when you move the F' to the begging of the alg with your magic finger xD thank you for these videos btw, they are helping me a lot 5*

  • i know all the plls and 45 olls from your page.THANKS!!!!

  • thanks this is really helpfull

  • for case #3, heres a shorter alg, holding it the same way

    R U2 R' U' (R U R' U') R U' R'

its kinda slower, but it takes fewer moves

  • That was a funny blooper :D Chaosbird - one cube supposed to be with only 2 edges correctly inserted ;]

  • at 7:47 how is the case wrong... im just curios.

  • @chaosbird94 lol nvm i see it...

  • for headlights? didnt you do D'?
