I'd say it's the desire to "save the world" we always hate those we call evil and we usually give up our humanity to be the good guys, the heroes who bring violent justice to evil men. Not to mention that war is only possible because we can hate ppl we haven't even meet, and we do so on the basis of patriotism. Cause that's what it boils down to: "If I can love my country, the good country, I can also hate an entire country full of strangers; the bad country"

Alot of talent, depth in songs, they just started using an echo to their vocals so it sounds like they are singing in a stadium.. the electric guitars where only just beginning to be used in the 1930's and when music started to get new genres, alot of them had electric guitars. But contrary to popular belief, there where alot of shitty songs and bands throughout the 1960 to 1980's,, its just we only play the 'classics' AKA good songs from the time.

You can see the effect its had on music coming out at the time.
