when you're recording quality vocal tracks, you're not holding a mic.. get a mic stand, shock mount, pop filter... and preferably a condenser mic... not a sennheiser dynamic with a wireless transmitter. the "muffled" sound that you hear when you hold the mic down your th roat is "proximity effect". what the hell is a soft spot? with a mic, you're either on or off axis. this is like the blind leading the blind..and whos using 8 track?
