  • Many a velvet morning spent with The Verve. Always the last tune I put on before heading to bed after a night on the medicinals, would lie on my couch, stare at the ceiling and drift into another little wonderland in my mind. Awww them was the days.

  • 1.49-2.35 is amongst the very best, emotionally and lyrically that I've heard in any popular music. What makes it avoid cliche is that, yes, it might sound like someone complaining, albeit beautifully, about their lot but then the part that seals the deal is that he turns philosophical in a empathetic, inquisitive, conversational, way to bring you in to it: Don't you find that it's lonely, the corridors you walk there alone And life is a game You've tried And life is a game

    You're tired.

  • there music before this album was even more amazing. i would highly recommend researching. urban hymns was my least favorite of theirs
