I think one of the reasons that chefs are so aggressive and unpleasant in the kitchen is that they are over compensating for the fact that they are doing a traditional female job.

So they act all macho and shout at foodies....I'd love to see any of them talk to building site workers the way they talk to people in a restaurant.

Most guys on a building site could drop them unconscious with a single shot....Ramsay is a tit witout a nipple. Useless.

@cleverfeller you're so far off, in Malaysia its more traditional for males to do the cooking, and we're taught to cook from a very early age.

@cleverfeller Actually, worldwide, chefs have *always* been male. In the West, women traditionally cook in a housewife role, but not in roles in which they're paid to cook. I think the reason why chefs can be so aggressive and unpleasant is because they're artists; they tend to be quite passionate about their art, and when people don't share their passion, they get aggressive because food is their life, and they see it as a personal affront. That would be my guess. :)
