hi is there a difference between cream cheese and the whipped cream cheese... thought it was more or less the same but the dipping sauce tasted a bit funny.
I tried making them, and they tasted great, but they were somewhat mushy and soft; any tips on how I can cook them and keep them somewhat firm after frying?
I can see why you used Granny Smith instead of any other variety, they'd have the most flavor. I used Gala apples.. It didn't turn out too bad, it's just there isn't a whole lot of flavor lol.
@ChefTips I figured that was why you chose the Granny Smiths. I didn't have the resources to make the dipping sauce at the time, but I'll definitely give it another shot soon!
I do I love apples I go apple picking in the fall every year and end up either doing apple pie or apple sauce but never new how to do apple fries how nice thank you.
oh wow!!! these looked so good...i started looking at your video for dog food and then got stuck looking at the rest of your videos...geeezzz and haven't done a darn thing around the house yet!! but i love that your here and i will continue to look for your videos...also i will make this great and simple recipe for my son...thank you
@halo3ownageable Generally, flavor - green apples, such as Granny Smiths, can have a tarter, more astringent flavor. But that's not a hard and fast rule...McIntoshes, which are primarily red, are more like green apples in (typical) flavor than a Fuji or a Red Delicious.
Considering I hate apples but love french fries, this is probably the only way I'll ever eat an apple, lol. Going to have to find or make some vegan cream cheese, though (allergic to dairy)...
I tried this recipe3 months ago with a gala apple beecause I was bored. They were really good. Thanks. I changed the recipe by dipping the apples in pancake batter and then breading them in the dry pancake flour.
hey. i really love your videos. you do a great job. i am an aspiring chef myself, im 19 and im taking a cooking course in saskatchewan. would we be able to talk about the industry sometime?
I've cooked these in oil over a skillet before. The trick is having the oil at the right temperature. With the deep fryer, it tells you when it's ready. You'll also need a slotted spoon to remove the fries. Hope you enjoy it!
isnt it that the apple seeds have poison in them, so if u toil it, u might also put poison in the apple cause u might probably damage the seeds and it will bring the poison called cyanide

The green apples are more tart, which goes nice with the sweet coating. They also stay more firm for the fries.

Hey now, you said at 1:26 "Gently sprinkle a mixture of cinnamon sugar over the french fries,".
I have a good deal of complaints for this abomination of an imperative sentence.
First of all, how does one gently sprinkle a mixture over a concoction? I do not understand this contraption of senseless confusion.
Next up, you ended that "sentence" with a comma. It very clearly showed. You should be ashamed.
Finally, you called the apple fries french fries. Are these really apple fries?
Thank you.
