  • I'm not against owning exotic animals, I'm just not totally for it. I respect owners that know what their doing and are able to provide for the animal properly. Shows like Fatal Attractions on the Animal Planet break my heart. Although I do agree with @sidoraking . Venomous snakes really have no place in an urban area or around any people for that matter no matter how responsible someone is.

  • PUT THE FUCKING ANIMALS BACK WHERE THEY BELONG!!! THEY ARE NOT HERE FOR YOUR AMUSEMENT, SO QUIT CHAINING THEM UP AND PUTING THEM BEHIND BARS YOU SELFISH PIECES OF SHIT!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • im confused as to what the purpose of having a venomous snake in your home is for... please explain.... is it cute to you? does it offer companionship? like why a poisonous snake, what are you offering this crazy ass snake that it cant get in the wild.... do you take it for walks or something and nurture it and sleep with it so not it is domesticated and will not bite anymore? i just want to know because i dont get the whole exotic snake thing, are you protecting it from the wild or something?

  • Hank: Hunny, I'm going to take Simba out for a walk.

Carol: Okay, just remember the leash. She's a full grown lion remember!

    Hank: Nah she's fine.

Carol: Make sure she has a leash!

(Hank disregards the leash, Simba jumps up and flys away)

    Hank: Dammit!

    (Hank grabs his jet pack)

  • if you bealive anything that animal planet puts out there in "fatal attractions" your a fool we who keep exotic animals do it because it is our passion we have no deep down reason for doing so . me, i keep a gaboon viper and ive had her for a number of years and ive never been bitten, we love our passion so much that we would risk out lives and devote a entire room of our house towards it . the small hobbyist who only keeps a couple corn snakes is no different they are still keeping a exoitc an.

  • @ElitexXl2ush3rXx Yes, there is a difference. A bite from a gaboon viper WILL kill you, a bite from a corn snake MIGHT lead to a fatal infection if you don't take proper care of the wound. There is a difference.

  • because a dog IS a exotic animal

  • if u think keeping exotic pets is inhuman, think about this : most americans are "inhuman" ur a fool if you think keeping a cat or a dog is ANY diffrent then keeping any type of exotic animals most of the time we exotic animal keepers know what we are geting into when we buy a exotic animal, do you understand that MORE dogs get taken to pounds or abused then exotic pets, your a fool to think that it is any diffrent to buy a dog than a exotic animal

  • @ElitexXl2ush3rXx Here's what I say. If the animal enjoys his living conditions, it's far from inhumane........ I in fact purchased a hedgehog today to add to my collection of various exotics. Didn't get to see the sex, as he/she is still nervous and won't let me hold him/her without curling up into a hard-to-hand spiek ball. :P He/she will enjoyher new home though. What better is than to give an animal comfort and luxury; things they wouldn't experience in the wild

  • @ElitexXl2ush3rXx The issue with many pet owners, however, is that they don't understand the care requirements for exotic pets and only get them due to solely the appearance and don't consider costs and risks. If there wasn't as many irresponsible owners and assholes making exotics look like bad pets, then the exotic pet community wouldn't get so much criticism.

  • Exotic pet owners are delusional. People who think tigers, chimps or bears can be "tame" or happy in little cages deserved to be mauled. Only bad thing is that the ingnoramouses that own them aren't the ones who pay the price, it's always the animals.

  • @lemurdue I requires a lot of 'magical thinking' to own a large or dangerous exotic pet. If people can go a few years without getting attacked by their tiger or bitten by their cobra, they convince themselves that this means they will always be safe with that animal. But it only takes one time.

  • Please Note: Wild animals are not pets. If you should ever find a baby animal, or are offered a wild animal... call your local Department of Natural Resources to find a wildlife rehabilitation center. Wildlife does not belong in houses. It is wrong to keep a wild animal. Do what is right, and let someone who knows about these animals raise and release it back into the wild. DO NOT PURCHASE wild animals, you would be contributing to 'farming' animals, which leads to abuse and neglect. Thank You.

  • @ghostygirlmn once an animal is raised by people ods are it has to go to a zoo or some other wildlife center as it was found that often animals raised by people dont know how to fend for them selfs in the wild

  • @smile4680 yup i agree, all i was saying is that there are facilities, that are out in the wilderness... that watch the wild animal closely, and do exposures to 'teach' it how to be wild. These facilities are usually not hands on after the animal is weened. And very important for people to know NOT to purchase animals that YOU SHOULD KNOW better than to have in your home. Get a cat, or a dog, a goldfish, or a hampster... but please no lions, skunks, raccoons, monkeys, ect. THX for the feedback:)

  • ugly song

  • OMG there so cute im so going to get one.

  • im from saudi arabia, i have a cheetah, striped hayena, spotted hayena, asian lion, 4 bengal tigers. im trying so fucking hard to get a jaguar, any1 knows some1 to reach in latin america? im willing to pay anything for mty collection.

  • go to exotic catz they might help you

  • cheers

  • Ur so lucky to have all those beutiful creatures in ur house i wish i would recued one if i had moneyyyy

  • yaaa its killing my salary, i earn 1000 dollars a week, it all goes to them. but thats part of it, every week i buy 4 goats.

  • people who are against exotics because of poaching are just ignorant. its basically illegal to purchase most exotics that are imported from the wild..the vast majority of exotics are captive bred and captive bred animals live twice as long than their wild cousins..if living in the wild is so great why dont you do it? my kinkajou likes the couch better than the tree in the backyard. thats for sure.

  • @manakawari I agree. Most exotics that are kept now are classified as tame.

  • @50Jesse50 There might be excpetions, but people have to understand what's best for animals, not yourself. They're not domesticated and there's a vast difference between them and wild animals. Sorry.

  • @DecemberRegn I do know that. Alot of animals have been bred for many generation. Take Bearded Dragons for example. They were once classified as exotic. I do not support the owning of exotic animals. But, what im try to get at is alot of them have some sort of 'tame' or 'domestic' bloodline.

  • @50Jesse50 Hmm, tame maybe, but not necessarily domesticated. I agree though that some exotic animals can be great pets if cared for properly (same goes with more common pets too though). But some exotic animals should never be "pets".

  • @DecemberRegn That, is definitely agreed.

  • i kinda agree you shouldn't be aloud to have exotic creatures, if it is allowed your jsut opening a market for poachers or whoever who will steal them from there natrual habitat to make some money

  • thcinmybody, most of ours exotic animals are born in captivity, because it makes them nicer and healthier, we are not criminals illegally stealing them from the wild.

  • @REXANOEXOTICS this is to THC and REX, we are PRESERVING these animals, they will have a longer life and a perfectly happy one in captivity, these people are banning exotic animals as if they are some kind of danger to society? how about a ban on cruelty toward exotic animals, or if you cant take care of them, not banning them from loving homes. ANOTHER BAD LAW, DON'T LET IT GET CLOSE TO PASSING, AND IF IT DOES, FIGHT IT TOOTH AND NAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @REXANOEXOTICS

MOST of them- so you do poach some from the wild then?

  • @REXANOEXOTICS where do you think they originally came from to be 'born in captivity'?? sick

  • poachers steal them from the wild we dont, all my exotics came from breeders who were reputable and cared for thier animals, its not right for us to be generalized just because we go out of the norm in our choice of animals

  • @thcinmybody you're an idiot, there's no poachers in the American countryside OH WAIT, THE TERRORIST POLICE SHOOT AND KILL OUR PETS TO SHOW OFF THEIR MANIPULATION AND EXPLOITATION OF THE LAW

  • Funnyest captions in a video ever...

  • you have a terrible sense of humour

  • wow, how stupid. you featured photos belonging to someone I know obtained the Tamandua legally, and of a semi domesticated lizard which is legal. Not tame wild animals exposed, lame stupid activists stealing images.

  • I think you need to check your sources and the intent of the video. The only activism going on here is maintaining ownership rights that are being bombarded by ara of the NO animal ownership or use. I think you may also find permission to use the pics ; )

  • Crass, you need to lighten up. The folks that make these videos are not animal rights. The encourage responsible animal ownership. They do NOT encourage getting any animal illegally. Therefore, would not show an animal that was obtained and being housed illegally. You and the makers of this video are apparantly on the same side silly.

  • They have permission to use the photos because they are campaigning for the right to won exotic animals.

  • You know when you here the cheesy "midi" music that the person's nuts! lm@o

  • i agree that the gov should not ban all exotics but each person should be individualy judged i my self own a fox (ziggy) and i know what it is like so im not shoting off bull here but some picts from this video kinda had me worried people were just laying around with a POSIBLY very dangerous animals... even though they were raised and loved all thir life by you dose not make them any less prone to attack. i dont want 2 make any 1 mad but realy that dose not seem very responcible..??

  • So where is the line drawn? At the fox you own? There are many people with the committment and knowledge to know their animals. You take a chance every time you drive your car, life is inherently dangerous. People in countries where tigers are indigenous live with them every day and are expected to 'conserve' them while US expects what?? BAN- no thanks.

  • Big dogs are possibly very dangerous animals but lots of people let them sleep in bed with them, how irresponsible. Think of all the kids in the news killed by dogs but people still allow them in the house, OMG! And horses kill people too and are huge and dangerous but people get on their backs and ride them. What are they thinking? Horses and dogs should only be kept hands off and by professionals. All said sarcastically to make a point.

  • @RagDollKisses "... but some picts from this video kinda had me worried people were just laying around with a POSIBLY very dangerous animals..."

    Ain't America GREAT!

You can race mini-cars on a figure-8 crash course or stick your head into an alligator's mouth. You can jump out of a perfectly good airplane in a wing-suit with a jet engine strapped to your ass or dive off a bridge with bungee-cord tied to your feet...

It's about FREEDOM for people to LOVE their PETS of CHOICE!

  • cool

  • I'd like to know the percentage of the animals photographed here that will eventually be living at an animal rescue.

    People...the dumbest breed on earth.

  • The only animal we can't account for is the cow.

And yes, you are a prominent member of the Breed

  • @elburrodiablo That is so very true. I don't understand the regulations in the US (and many other countries). There are more tigers held captive by private owners, many in their backyards/garages etc., than living in the wild! And why can't people understand wild animals do NOT make good pets. When people can't even care for their dogs or parrots properly, do you think the majority will be able to properly care for a leopard or a chimpanzee? It's insane.

Many will be rescue animals, or killed.

  • nise vid but must watch it on mute cause 2 min in to the video and i wanna throw my speakers out the window!!!!!!!!

  • Lol, VOLUME button- goes up and down. However if you use it to clean to you may find yourself dancing with a broom. Just an idea. It gets on my nerves too and now this song will be in my head most of the day- Fa la la la Bamba!

  • but im not saying its bad to have a exotic pet but i think what they should do is breed exotic pets from animals that have lost their habitat and sell them to risponsible owners and have some way to make sure they wont abuse the animals so that people can still have an exotic pet but still not like have to take them from their wild habitat just for pets

  • Please note, most of the animals people have as exotic pets were born in captivity, many, such as big cats, are 5th or more generation removed from the wild. Some zoos might get orphaned not releasable local wildlife, such as cougars. There are few reptiles that are wild caught, but most you see in our videos were not from the wild, most animals were born in captivity and have no idea what wild is.

  • ya i know and i didnt relly mean that having exotic pets is bad i was just sorta responding to what people said but i think exoticpets rule and its kinda stupid how people are critisizing exotic pet owners when there are way worse things like puppy mill's and shit out there

  • hahah yeah cause puppy mills is the same as having a tiger lol gimme a break. Most people can't even keep their big cats when they become full adults.

  • Canface, where are you getting your information from?

  • But don't they still have that instinct?

  • On average, one person gets killed each year by captive exotic cat in the USA. This includes big cats form zoos to sanctuaries and pets. If the cats were so dangerous, don't you think we would have more fatalities?

  • @REXANOEXOTICS

The fatalities are not the only reason to be against it. It's the quality of life, poor genetics and unhappy ends these animals meet.

  • ok seriosly i kinda think that humans are playing god here like really were taking wild animals out of their natural habitat and trying to domesticate them should we be doing this well no and ive heard the excuse why is it bad to demestocate these animals if dogs have been demestacated well there were no laws against it back then so it happened and that is no reason to do it now also if we take them out of their habitat because it is being distroyed it will only further damage the habitat

  • I LOVE EXOTIC PETS~!:)

  • WILD ANIMALS CAN NOT BE TAMMED!

They are wild and always will be!

  • You never rode a horse? It might have come from a wild herd?

  • You know, we really need to feel pity for this person and others, especially those who work for BCR--to never know the love of a big cat, bear or any other exotic animal. Not to be able to interact and share in these magnificent creature's lives. Their vile comments come from extreme jealousy which is an emotion that will eventually destroy them.

  • @scorpionsgottasting "...we really need to feel pity for this person and others, especially those who work for BCR--to never know the love of a big cat, bear or any other exotic animal..."

Yeah! Big Cat Re$cue once was called Wildlife On Easy Street, run by a greedy trailer-trash hag that charmed a millionaire out of his money and some have said, perhaps even his life.

Most of the cats BCR has "rescued" have come from her old breeding stock.

The sad stories told about them are lies, too!

  • The bond, acceptance and learning about animals will go much further toward warding off extinction than any animal rights, "wild" advocate can ever hope to accomplish. Too bad they have a limited view and refuse to see the real benefits and allow humans and nature to be in the same sentence in their minds. I don't really think their claimed passion is anything but a farce.

  • wow..large cats with chains and collars around their neck...do u actually like your animals? Wouldn't u rather them be roaming free in the wild and contributing to the ecosystem? oh wait you would rather dress them in sutis and watch them prance around...

  • OceanCroonie, your ignorance has no limits, yes, there are chain collars on big cats, just like people use smaller versions of chain collars on big dogs. You have no clue about animal training/behavior.Big cats are stronger than dogs;their collar has to be of material that is not easily destructible and can withstand more pressure. We do NOT want our beloved animals in the wild where their would be killed for parts and their life span would be short. Now go watch Discovery channel for the next 30 years

  • lol..obviously I understand that the bigger the animal the bigger and stronger the collar. My point is that you're keeping a wild animal on a short leash...And yes, I will watch discovery, it's my favorite network

  • These animals have no idea what the 'wild' is, and frankly, could care less. They have everything they need, including loving relationships with other living things. They enjoy being around people. And as far as the collar goes, they know when the lead is hooked to it, it is 'walk time'!

  • Yes..it's very very sad to me they don't know what the wild is. Did the animals speak to you? Did they tell you they like being around people? As far as i am concerned cats are solitary. Lions are social, but if you had the choice would you rather be around your family for the rest of your life, or a bunch of lions? i would assume you would chose your family, Just as you assume the lion would rather be around humans and not other lions...

  • OceanCroonie did OUR animals speak to YOU to tell YOU they prefer to be in the wild???hey, I have surveillance camera, tell me the date so I can see where our lion told you he didn't like to be with humans. And female tigers are NOT solitary, they always have babies leaving the nest while she is pregnant with the next batch.

  • Animals have been wild FOREVER. Just leave them alone!

  • typical, you can not answer factually so you just get emotional, either answer questions or leave please

  • actually..it wouldn't let me comment because i exceeded the limit...go check your inbox..

  • Since you have been BCR volunteer, I am sure others will provide proper feedback to you

  • Oceancrooner, if animals have been wild forever then you need to practice what you preach and give up your dog. Dogs are ancestors of wild canines and thousands are put down each year for wild aggression and socialization issues. Your dog is about as aware of the wild as those big cats are since they're all captive-bred. Only because it was socialized can you safely interact with your dog without losing an arm. Likewise, exotic animals can also be socialized for safe interaction.

  • dogs ARE domesticated. And thankyou for reiterating my point...there are thousands of dogs out there who need homes yet many people choose to have the novelty of a lion, or bobcat. wolves are social animals who live in a hierarchy system. Thousands of years ago people took the wolf and bred out the traits that made them helpful to humans. Now dogs and wolves are TWO completely seperate species. A wild lion and a captive lion are the EXACT species. Only one is locked up

  • Why was it ok for humans back then to "breed out the traits" and not todays man? Same concept. People have been living alongside animals all their lives. We take very good care of our animals and this is reciprocated by the affection we get from our animals. They are not a novelty. They are our companions just as your dog is your companion.

  • Just so you're not confused, the word "domestic" only means that an animal has been bred in country, or has been in contact with humans. Meaning, if a big cat (lion, serval) has been bred and raised by humans, and has been trained and handled by humans all of its life, it has been domesticated.

  • @oceancrooner17 "... Now dogs and wolves are TWO completely seperate species. .."

You are wrong. They can freely interbreed and produce viable offspring, body size and form permitting.

That is the definition of the same specie, AFAIK.

As for being "Locked up", I have indoor cats that will run outside, only to beg to be allowed back in. There are also feral cats that run inside, but I must THROW THEM OUT again.

Cats on both sides of the door KNOW which side they would rather be locked behind!

  • Do you own a dog or cat? They were wild once. There are still wild dogs (wolves) around. Why can there not be domesticated lions. monkeys, etc aand wild ones. When the world becomes overpopulated and people haven't doemsticted these animals they will become extict because there will be no place for them to go. All of the wild habitats around the world are depleting at alarming rates.

  • I do own a dog, and a cat once. And do you realize how many years it has taken for them to be domesticated?? you can NOT breed the wild out of a lion or tiger in a few short generations..it will take thousands of years. Oh and thanks for just giving up on their habitats i'm sure they thankyou for that too. And trust me there are enough wild animals locked up in zoos to assure they won't go extinct after your claim that their habitats will be gone soon

  • I haven't given up on their habitats but I'm realistic. The world is full of people who will continue to encroach on their land. We ARE in favor of conserving their habitats 100%, but we need to be prepared in the case that their habitats are not available to them. Dogs aren't miserable because they are no longer "wild." If people stopped protesting responsible exotic owners, tigers would evolve as dogs have. I am sure many already see their tigers as domesticated. My monkeys are.

  • @xeileen916x "... Why can there not be domesticated lions. monkeys, etc and wild ones. When ... people haven't domesticated these animals they will become extinct ... All of the wild habitats around the world are depleting ..."

That is what these anti-exotic pet people refuse to understand. In the future, ALL ANIMALS that need large, unpopulated intact habitat, especially PREDATORS, will cease to exist in the wild.

Only by the captive breeding of MANY individuals will a specie survive.

  • As a matter of fact, the animals do speak to me, and to anyone who has ears to hear. You have probably never been around big cats or worked with them. If you treat them with respect and love, they return this to you many times over. Animals have a quality rarely talked about by those who would have us separated from them-- adaptability. History teaches us that cats easily adapt to being around people. This can be true even in non-captive situations, such as Elsa of 'Born Free' fame.

  • @oceancrooner17 "... Did the animals speak to you? Did they tell you they like being around people? ..."

I'm fluent in Felis sylvestris (catus & domesticus) and by an OVERWHELMING MARGIN, they say they WANT to live INSIDE and EAT REGULAR MEALS while receiving and GIVING lots of KITTY LOVE!

Dogs are social. Don't you think it is CRUEL to keep your dog without it's own kind?

BTW, I don't, as I know dogs regard their humans as family, as do many other pets, exotic or mundane.

  • Another Great Video! Wonderfully done!

    Cindy

  • Great Video. It would smell better if it had a skunk in it though.

  • Is that any different than having a domestic dog or cat. These days everyone is sue happy. The real fear is people being needlessly afraid of what they don't know or understand.

  • @suzybluec

False. It's about the low quality of life and unhappy ends the exotic market creats for the animals.

  • Awesome Video!!!

  • LOL The is the coolest milk man in the world!

  • Absolutely adorable!!
