It is the LHD model, so it is called Lotus Omega. The RHD model(UK market) is called Lotus Carlton.

It would have been very difficult, and costly at one time to even try to import a Lotus Omega, but I don't think there would be a problem with basic importation these days, under the department of transportation's (DOT) "Show and Display" exemption for vehicles of historic merit. The only problem I would imagine would be any expenses incurred. But according to the exemption laws, the car cannot be used for general transportation, only racing events and shows. Kind of silly.

no moron. when lotus was owned by general motors they made lotus omega/carlton. CARLTON is the UK version of this tuned car , and the version made for germany was omega , but it is the same car. lotus planed to make 1050 cars total, but due to some problems they finished only 950 -- 320 was CARLTON for the UK , ang 630 OMEGA for germany. so stop acting rude -- it is the same car!!

LOL Learn your cars boy. GM own Vauxhall and Opel, the Carlton/Omega was given to the Lotus engineers who came up with this version.

In the UK it was called the Vauxhall Lotus Carlton in Germany it was the Opel Lotus Omega.

That's wrong. Omega was a car produced by Opel, but Lotus produces some Omegas with a 360 hp BiTurbo engine. LOTUS OMEGA EXIST!!!

BTW Opel Speedster/ Vauxhall VR 220 was produced by Lotus too.
