I dig this song alot, because, yea, its honest...I wouldnt like ta rite anything negative about this, its a beautiful....-only (maybe) in the middlepart he tightens his beautiful voice a bit so it sounds he tries to get to a little high notes, BUT, BUT THE ATMOSPHERE STILL STAYS VERY,VERY BEAUTIFUL....
the song is amazing.. it builds on emotion .. so very intense and then just when you think it can't build any more it touches even deeper and totally absorbs everything you are..
"Stay" is one of the greatest songs ever written, and I've listened to more than is almost humanly possible. It matters more where you are in life. Two years from now our opinions will flip, isn't it beautiful?!! I see many kids comment that they "wish they were born earlier", I'm happy I was born within the right century to even be able to hear this, coulda' been born in the 1890's(phew).
one of his best, I used to play this over and over again, still has such power in it, needs to be played at high volume for the best results, religious ecstasy!
i rather appreciate that Bowie realizes it's more important to lead than to follow... Still think it's a shame we lost Dylan for so long after he decided to "follow the lord..."
@mola55e5 David actually wrote this song upon his conversion to Christianity. Having been strung up on coke for years he felt he was going to die. All he could eat was full fat milk and peppers that his assistant would bring him. So whether or not he's no longer faithful in Jesus doesn't change the fact that he once was. It's quoted that David said this is the realest song he's ever written. In my humble belief I feel as though he really tasted G-d's salvation.
This is an absolutely terrific song...as his songs usually are! He is so honest in his music. I enjoy it so much. Who's actually honest anymore? He's one in a million. I don't know, maybe more than that!! What a beautiful talent! He always just puts himself out there. I just love you David.

@saganemc2 Thought i was obsessive because I've listened 'Stay' more times than what is normal. I would do it again and I believe I will. :)

This is a terrific album but the title track and this song are more single-worthy than 'TVC 15' and 'Stay' in my opinion.

I've listened to this over and over all day. This is about the 50th or so time I've listened to it. I'm haunted..
I love how there's mistakes in the song..little note errors, little imperfections. Makes it more perfect.
