  • Gregory Peck.... I almost wept when I saw his sweet face as Atticus Finch. And Kate! Greatest woman ever to grace the screen. These "actresses" nowadays couldn't clap Kate's erasers.

  • OMG! The great Kate has been gone since 2003! see what i mean! i love these tributes, because it proves that time is fluid...

  • I am very pleased to see all these yearly remembers.... i just had to check. thank you

  • 2 seconds showing the great Bob Hope? Typical liberal bias on the part of TCM.

  • @Lee05211 wow.. he lived to 100 yrs old. so few live that long. Buddy Epson did too. alot of male actors did

  • @Lee05211 Please tell me you're kidding. They had alot of other people to get to. They couldn't give him the whole song.

  • @Lee05211 What?? You're really reaching.

  • The most upsetting part is Katharine Hepburn at the end, such an icon

  • Am I the only person who thought the choice in music ruined this montage?

  • @XreverseXanielmX .. it works for me.. listen to the words.... REMEMBER

  • @XreverseXanielmX No, I almost turned the video off when I heard that goddamn Sarah McLachlan song...but it was a touching tribute regardless.

  • is anyone else kinda perturbed that leni riefenstal is in this? She made movies for the nazis

  • if I send you my email address, could you send me the 2004 tribute video?

  • When Gregory Peck was on the screen. I burst into tears.

  • TCM's best "Remember" video.

  • Gregory peck.. 4:02

My favorite actor of all time.

  • LaMusicaVa- yes I'm wondering if this was actually the first one

  • Do you happen to have the 2002 tribute? That's one of the only ones I can't find on here.

  • wow, this made me cry all the way through, but i was in shambles at the very end when kate was up.

  • I started crying when the Hepburn clips come on.

  • @ItBrandonSilver Same here

  • Kate Hepburn's "I was sort of hoping you would kiss me goodbye" line was when I really started tearing up...It adds more delicacy to the video. I personally think this is TCMs best Remember video.

  • @FlaxenHairedBeauty I have always thought it is the best too....

  • ...forever...forever in our hearts...

  • Charles Bronson RIP

  • I miss Katharine Hepburn every day of my life. 1907 - 2003

  • 3:47 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • @TheAltoQueen I know I used to have the BIGGEST crush on him in his 'Three's Company' days and 'Pray Tv' was one of his best roles and he was robbed for 'Sling Blade'.

  • Man, I managed to hold it together until that shot of Gregory Peck at 4:00 listening to the children talk about their mother in TKAM, and that's when I burst into tears. And then Hepburn had me sobbing even more :( I remember being really sad this year...

  • @MissHazelFlagg The shot of Greagory Peck sitting on the porch is my all time favorite shot of him, and the epitome of silent, listening, acting

  • Two words to add to all these great posts...Jeanne Crain.

  • That was an exceptionally rough year....in terms of icons loved and lost

  • The ones that really got me were John Ritter, Gregory Hines, Gregory Peck, and Katharine Hepburn. 2003 was a big year for deaths, I forgot so many big names passed away that year.

  • Where Michael Jeter?

  • Wow, what a lousy year! all these greats.. and my dad died too... hope 2010 is my best year ever!

  • O.K., so in 2004 we lost Donald O'Connor (Singing In the Rain) John Ritter (Three's Company) Johnny Cash, Horst Buchholz (Magnificent Seven) BOB HOPE, Charles Bronson, Gregory Peck and Katharine Hepburn. No way! Those last three in succession were like... BAM!! It's like all the great, classic actors died in one year. ... Ouch... That was costly! I remember my mom was depressed for like the whole year...

  • Man, unexpected tears for Katharine. I can't believe this was 2003, it seems like yesterday!

  • I wonder why they chose to ignore Lynne Thigpen?

  • wow we lost a lot that year didn't we?

  • I still cannot believe Katharine Hepburn or Gregory Peck is dead. We have them in movies and recordings, but that is all we have of them. I guess its just so sad because we want them so much to live forever, and they almost did.

  • What movie is that at 4:25 with Katharine in the falling mirror? Looks like a very sad moment.

  • It's from The Lion in Winter. I believe it's during her "What a Desolation" monologue, but I may be mistaken. Definitely The Lion in Winter, though. It is a very gripping scene.

  • yes you are correct, thanks for uploading

  • @schatze78 I was able to watch tcm remembers 2004 from the raygun site. I just googled tcm remembers 2004. They also have 2005 and 2006 as well as a bunch of other stuff.

  • @inertia2004 Thanks, but I have them all. I unlisted the 2004 one because once it was flagged people continuously complained about it. The other years, I never found a point in posting something that is already posted on here.

  • @schatze78 Is there a year that TCM skipped? I cannot seem to find anything for 2001

  • @FilmTracks Looks to be from THE LION IN WINTER

  • The Best of the TCM Remembers.

  • Agreed.

Of course, part of the reason for that is due to the sheer, staggering number of truly great talents that were lost that year.

  • 0:20 and 1:23 my favorite ones. John Ritter still gets to me today.

  • This was beautiful, brought back alot of good memories of old faces I had'nt seen in a while. God bless them all.

  • Does anyone know if Leni Reifenstahl was honored in the Academy's tribute? I didn't watch the oscars back then, and I was wondering, since she was a Nazi and made the Nazi propoganda films and all, would she be honored at the Oscars...IMO, she should have been, beine that she was a leading pioneer of the filmmaking art, as well as a woman(uncommon in the field)

  • Where's Alec Guinness?

  • He didnt die in 2003

  • Really? I could have sworn it was '03. When did he?

  • In 2000

  • Ok. Thanks for clearing that up.

  • I'm in tears right now. Bob,Greg,Katharine,Donald, we have gotten these amazing people and now they are gone with the wind, but the wind remains in the hearts of fans, so they'll never be gone, because I'll alway have them in my heart.

  • What a terrible year. Greatest female director Leni Riefenstahl and greatest female actor Katharine Hepburn and greatest cinematographer Conrad Hall in the same year.

  • I was always a big fan of Jack Elam.

The creator of the memorial refers to one of my favorite films: Once Upon A Time In The West.

  • whoa I did not know that David Hemmings has passed away. It makes me a bit sad, I had a crush on him in "Blow Up"

  • Why did they remove Hope Lange? Some kind of slight, I think. It's making me crazy because they didn't add anyone in her place, and the running time is the same as the prior 2003 TCM remembers that included her!

  • Duh. Now I get it. This was the first of two TCM tributes that year. Lange was included after her death on Dec. 16th.

  • Does anyone have the TCM remembers for 2000, 2001, and 2002?

  • I had the same question as you! Let's hope someone does have them and posts them!

  • excellent

  • I love the clip of Donald O'Connor in this beautiful tribute - one of my fave musical actors along with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and he is always underappreciated.

  • David O'Connor will never really be gone!

  • oh i love katharine's part in this tribute....it's so heart wrenching....

  • I love the clip they show of Katharine Hepburn where she salutes! It's like she's saying "I've made my contribution to the world and now I'm saying goodbye". I love her!

  • I've been watching the TCM Remembers segments here lately. They're so well done and beautiful, such a lovely tribute to these actors, writers, directors and composers.

  • Does anyone have the Natasha Richardson tribute? She was a wonderful actress.

  • Aw, everytime I watch this, and see Gregory Peck and Katharine Hepburn, I cry. A wonderful actor and a fabulous actress!

  • This is such a touching video. I'm so grateful that TCM makes these small tributes to the lives of these wonderful actors and actresses and other filmmakers. The Donald O'Connor, Bob Hope, Gregory Peck, and Katharine Hepburn bits bring me to tears every time :/. The ending was so perfect... Thank you for posting this.

  • TISSUES! Love the end. Thanks TCM!

  • Beautiful way to end it.

  • I no longer see the TCM Remembers 2005 on YouTube

  • I, too. agree that this is perhaps the best of the "TCM Remembers" series. I particularly like the text underlying and enhancing the images.

    Thank you for posting these!

  • Katherine Hepburn and Gregory Peck are my favorites and sadly they died in the same year. I am crying...

  • Same here :(

  • This is the best ever little tribute film TCM made IMO. Especially sad to me - opened with two of my favorites, Karen Morley and Penny Singleton, and closed with another - the great Kate. And loved many others in the film as well.

  • KATHARINE HEPBURN ! NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I want her reincarnated

  • My goodness. 2003 was a brutal year in talented celebrity deaths

  • That's amazing and beautiful. I had no idea so many wonderful talents died that year. I cried at the end for Gregory and Katharine. They're two of my favs, and I can't believe they're gone and in the same year, too.

  • So many amazing people died that year. It breaks my heart

  • The best of the TCM Remembers.

They should continue to use S.M.'s "I Will Remember Rou" as the background standard.

  • My favorite of the TCM tributes so far. Thanks for sharing.

  • Can someone please identify the movie where Katharine Hepburn does the salute? She's looks so cute doing it!

  • that was in woman of the year

  • Miss Jean Louise?....

    Miss Jean Louise,

    stand up.

    Your father's passing.

  • KATHARINE HEPBURN!!!!!!! breaks my heart *tears*

  • I know! I always cry when it gets to her and Gregory Peck

  • George axelrod!! I love him

  • Thank you for sharing this video. It is a great tribute to those lost in 2003 as are all the TCM memoriums. Does anyone have 2001 and 2002? We lost Jack Lemon that year.

  • i love that tcm does this every year. i missed this one though..when it got to katherine...i just couldn't keep back the tears. it always makes me cry, but this one was the worst. i just cant believe how many of the greats died that year

  • i got to meet Gregory Hines, and I will never forget how down to earth he was.

  • They did not have Johnathan Brandis.

  • Gregory Peck wow, I forgot his death was that recent, absolutely noone else could have been atticus finch a true legend.

  • 2003...was even worse though. I think there were literally one or two people a week who had passed on and that's the reason why that year stood out for me. I couldn't believe it. It made me sad.

I love TCM Remembers. They're always fitting tributes to great talents.

  • TCM Remembers are better tributes than the Oscars "In Memoriam".

  • I certainly agree with that. TCM does it infinitely better.

  • thank you TCM, for wonderful memories of many of my favorite actors. Can't prevent my eyes from swelling up with tears.

  • 2003 was very strange. An extraordinary amount of legendary actors and actress died that year. It was extremely sad.

  • Indeed; so many that, the first time I saw this, I kept gasping to myself, "Oh, man, I forgot about him!"

The Sarah McLachlan song is an ideal fit, as well.

  • yea 2004 was the same way.

  • i miss them so much, most of all katharine, so long woman

  • HOPE TO SEE MORE.. GREAT JOB!!!

  • Thanks for posting this. I remember seeing it and getting so moved by this particular tribute. I almost cried when Katharine Hepburn said her line. How appropriate! So many losses that year... I had forgotten how many.

  • Katharine Hepburn is my all-time favorite actress. TCM makes touching tributes. I am borderline on the verge of tears.

  • Incredible memories!

  • Gregory Peck is my all time favorite actor.

  • I got teary when I heard Katharine Hepburn say, "I was sort of hoping you would kiss me goodbye"

  • these mean a lot to me. thanks for posting. they left out Jonathan Brandis. I wonder if they have a policy about suicides. he died late in the year but he isn't in the 2004 montage either.

  • OMG. Elia Kazan, Bob Hope, Gregory Peck, Katharine Hepburn...Im bawling!

  • These TCM memoriams put the Oscar reels to shame, folks!

Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Katharine and Peck would be proud.

  • That song + Gregory Peck + Kate Hepburn = me bawling... oh God, we did lose such a number of them that year.

  • My God! So many gone... As soon as Karen Morley hit the screen I began to cry. My dream of meeting so many wonderous people went up in flames. All I can do now is to turn to their films for comfort.

  • Katharine Hepburn, Gregory Peck, Buddy Ebsen, Bob Hope - what an incredibly sad year for movie fans.

  • wow, this was a sad one.

  • I can't watch this without crying. We lost so many that year.

  • as soon as I saw Katharine Hepburn I started bawling. She is the greatest. There was no one like her in history. And I doubt we will see her like again...

  • I totally just balled my eyes out!!! That was so damn sad!

  • Bless You!

  • Thanks for posting, it's great to be able to look back at these, TCM does such a great job.

  • Once they got to Gregory Peck I was blinking tears

  • What an INCREDIBLY sad video. Thanks for sharing though.

  • Thank you for posting this....
