  • what spark plug do you use?

  • @hanomagman Currently using an old Champion 8com - not an easy plug to find these days, but worth getting hold of one if you can.

  • If an engine still displayed the original transfers I would not restore it. My friends have a Lister D in the same condition with WAR FINSH stensiled on the side. Its a TVO conversion aswell and was nearly sold in Holland!!

  • Hi,

As you probably know, I'm building a trolley for my D at the moment with those wheels, How easy to move is yours? Some people have said to me that is won't be and will get bogged down on the rally feild.

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

I've never tried it on muddy/soft ground, but I can drag it across compacted gravel fairly easily and can push it with 1 finger on concrete/tarmac!

  • Ok thanks, I shouldn't have too much trouble then! It should go up my ramps, after collecting the wolseley and having to lift that in and out of the shed, he verry kindly bought me some ramps!

    Your engine sounding great there!

I will post a vid with my engine on the new troley when its finnished, I should also have my old 1935 dynamo on friday!

  • Hi Phill, I have them wheels on my Ruston PB and it does sink in on a field, mine did when I first got it and it was hard to get it out to put in on the trailer.

  • Thanks, was it a dry feild?

I will probably make some suports to go under the axels soon, but we will see.

  • No, it had been raining before I got there. It dried out by the sunday and it was sunk in the ground.

  • Oh right, well I only do one day shows and if it's 2 day then I only do one. If it was local that woul be a different matter but I dont have tents or a caravan.

  • You got a van havent you?

  • Yes but I wouldn't sleep in it.

  • Why not, put a infatlable bed down and get a gas stove.

  • Nah, my dad and i are quite happy doing just one day shows. I would do two if I allready had a caravan but generaly we only have one day a weekend free.

  • Oh, ok.

  • I'd love to do two days though but sometimes the one is easy. If the show was within 20 miles I think I could do the two days, just come home again afterwards.

  • Brenzett or the Kent Show takes us an hour to get to em. Thats how far we userly go but Kingsfolds going to be a fevest so far.

  • Yes, Kings fold will be the furthest for me as well.

I did go about 400 miles to pick up my wolseley though!

  • I wouldnt bother, just wait till one was local.

  • One thing I have learnt in this hobby is that nothing is ever local, always 100 miles away!

It's only local when a friend who lives localy gives you an engine, like what happened with my D!

  • Ive gone less than 30 miles away to get my engines.

  • Its up to you what you do with your engine. I painted mine but I do like to see them like this!!

  • I took my Lister D and Climax pump to a one day engine rally today.

  • Verry nice and a sweet running D!

  • Looks just great as it is, you keep it that way. Sounds such a smooth rhythmic runner...
