My admittedly strong opinion is that condemning a certain genre of music as evil because of its origin is a logical fallacy as well as musical jingoism. He talks of being baptised into the Anglican communion and has never talked of leaving it. His teacher J.G. Bennett returned to the Roman Catholic communion towards the end of his life. He references the Gospels in a number of contexts. He has improvised musical pieces in/with/(for?) Christian holy spaces. I think you have located something of note in his music.
