  • P.k yonge is waaaayy better.

  • "¡Ay, Alabanza!" Dear god, that killed me. I was a little iffy with the trio in the beginning, but the rest of the performance had me sold.

  • the guy at the beginning with the blonde hair kinda sounds like Lin

  • That was absolutely incredible!! Like this if Lin Manuel Miranda sent you here!

  • @xxSugarzxx He Favorited it by the looks of it...hehe

  • This is amazing <3 I'm proud to be apart of NC choirs !

  • It definately had it's rough points, but over all it was pretty awesome. I think it was weird having Vanessa be black and not belt... But she was a really good dancer.

  • THE BEST! period. (:

  • shit i'd love to see this in person !!

  • That was awesome!!!!im actually singin that song at my school.

  • Im sorry i just laughed when i saw this. Dont get me wrong this is awesome i love the counterpoints. when they speak spanish its hilarious.

  • this is insanely AMAZING!you go guys!!

  • i want chucks with taps on them!!

  • i want chucks with taps on them!!

  • Talented group. But I love In the Heights, and the tap routine made NO sense to me. It's a latin-flavored hip-hop song, I would have choreographed with hip-hop or latin dancing. VERY good dancing, just didn't fit. And the rapping was just very stale. There was quite a bit of cheese in the performance, which is the opposite of what In the Heights is. Bold choice of song, but I don't think, in this case, it was done to justice. Just my opinion, of course.

  • Go North central!!!!!!!! ( im in there counterpoints) im the soloist :) im proud

  • @whatupmilu12345 there are 4 soloists, thats not very specific

  • Is there any vids on their show this year?

  • .... 2:10-2:16....que gringos... Not for nothing but... interesting accents those who soloed in Spanish.

  • The soloist's voice kinda reminds me of Audra McDonald. When classical vibrato meets a soulful voice.

  • You guys were awesome, so glad to have been able to have seen this in person!

  • i love the fan club in the front.

  • 2:18 lol,"i never win shit".

  • that was tite! Representing NC!

  • i loved watching this in Indiana!

it got stuck in all of our heads and all of BHS

choir was singing it for about two months.

  • This is great.

  • saw them live they r great

  • I saw In the Hieghts the day before this. I was really impressed, this is such a cool number.

  • Woooaaah, how can anyone not like this number?!

I was in a choir that actually beat this group last year, but I can tell you after we saw this number, we all thought we were WAYYY lost. :)

We fell in love with this number, our entire choir. We loved it so much we copied it in our Pop Show, dedicated to the Counterpoints. :)

Anyone who doesn't like this is certifiably misguided.

  • I would love to somehow get a hold of a copy of that :-)

  • ok i know this is going to burst your bubble but i didn't find it a really good performance. i loved the Dancing but for some reason the soloists were playing multiple roles within the song and it really bugs me when people do that so yeah i am not misguided I'm just pointing out the obvious that shouldn't have been in this number so yeah but the dancing was amazing i just didn't like the soloist

  • @LZcrew Just got my state ring from this the other day... someone must have liked it...

  • @thekillers408 haha obviously but that is my own personal opinion

  • @MurrayMLK OMG I AGREE I WANT TO SEE THAT!!!! (p.s. I'm in Counterpoints and I was in this last year)

  • @MurrayMLK kolbenschlag?

  • Nc counterpoints are the best

  • do you expect every performer - either actor or singer - to have the exact same experience as the character they are playing? and as this is an educational endeavor, it's good if they are challenged to pull off something that might not be familiar

  • wow. i would have never expected this type of version of in the heights. l love this musical and this show choir is good, but none of them lved up to their character. it was pretty bad, but the show choir seems like they are really talented. it just wasnt the right casting, sorry.

  • 4:40 is my favorite part

  • Thank god- finally a show choir where the people can actually rap.

  • lol, really?

  • 3:20 makes the song. from then on, it is really good

  • Okay sooo I saw In the Heights on broadway, and this show choir does an amazing job portraying the real thing. I absolutley loved it!! Keep it up :)

  • nevermind what haters say, ignore 'em till they fade away! CP0809 FOR LIFE! :) we legit

  • its good for a highschool :D

and my school is called central too!

  • yeah... this is really bad. sorry! this style is too far out of everyone's comfort zones and it just doesn't sound right. A for effort though!!

  • okay... i was also in show choir for 4 years (hipstreet!!) and we have competed against this school for many many MANY years! and i still say that this show choir is one in a million.. for all of the haters out there.. i would love to see you come home with as many trophies as they do! they work hard for what they deserve! so think what you want.. b/c they're still gonna be better than you! thanks! :)

    love the counterpoints btw!!

  • I'd have to agree. suburban kids don't exude the neccesary energy needed for an urban show. comes off as geeky.

  • I wouldn't exactly call these kids suburban.

  • suburban is kind of "code" for not "urban", which is another "code" that mainstream america likes to use so they don't have to say black. But what would you call them?

  • Yeah, this choir is from Indianapolis. The heart of it actually. That.....would be urban.

  • @todyglacier2 Haha, Alright, well the "heart" of Indianapolis is NOT 86th and Michigan...

You want to see "Urban" you need to come to my neighborhood at Keystone and Raymond.

    lol

  • thats my school(: they are so good!

  • who ever is hatin on this better stop. everything was difficult and there wasnt anything that wasnt a challenge in this song. so lay off with the negativity for our group and just enjoy the video.

  • love this song. but the entire show is dance and vocal solo based. their choreography in this song is generally extremely simple in most parts. and it's mostly composed of dance solos and individuals singing. this group has so much talent. i feel like they could have done so much better...

  • i think the same here.

she's really good. but it just doesnt click.

i really liked everythin else though.

  • wow its just like them to sound wierd when trying to say things in spanish it would have been better with latinos oh well but it was good

  • Love Bri Walker.

Pissed she didn't tell me about her In The Heights solo.

  • love this song!!! :D did this group perform in sullivan, illinois? i think i remember seeing them....

  • noo they did not

  • well then another group did the song... almost identical to this cause ive seen this song before.

  • It might have been the choir from Brea? its on youtube, but it's not anywhere similar to this version of the song.

  • How does this make sense if the whole musical is about community togetherness....um yeaa get it straight

  • The chick talking looks like a speechie.

  • I remember the speaking soloist at the beginning from ComedySportz

  • that must have been really great to see from the house.

  • I LOVED THEM!!!!!!!!

  • i friggen love woody!

  • The girl who talks at the beginning is a stone cold fox.

  • I do, the one on the right is smokin'.

  • eh i dont like the three girls in the beginning but I love the back half of the song!!!

  • they did good

  • I agree while it was nice to look at and sounded pretty good it diidnt do justice to the feeling of the actual piece i diidnt understand the tapping it caught me so off guard so good performance but diidnt do justice to the felling of the show

  • In typical Counterpoint form - while I wasn't entirely sure what to think when the number started, by the end these kids totally convinced me. What great performers!

  • Amazing is the only word that can describe this.

  • seriously, they're better than the cast on broadway!

  • Too bad for your point that I saw a broadway show and this on the same day, and it was definitely comparable. Thanks :).

  • it was? how old are you?

  • Well, I think that the kids did a fabulous job! And the choreography is delish!

  • I thought the choreo sucked...

    Not really.

  • old enuf to b your daddy

  • lol....ok...just so you know I'm old too.

  • agreed

  • Hahaha, it's true, here at Burbank we're a little obsessed with this number. :)

  • absolutely amazing!

  • this song is addicting!! congrats on getting first at state!! i loved the show!!

  • they are truly amazing.

  • I agree! I can't get over the tone of the girl ensemble. They sound EXACTLY like the Original Broadway Recording of "In The Heights". These kids are stars.

  • Ever since our trip to indiana you've had burbank singing this song EVERY DAY.

    AMAZING!

  • their taps are chuck taylors. HOW SICK IS THAT?!

  • Very unique. The showstopper I was waiting for from this wonderful group.

  • I about died when I saw this. SO stunning.

  • So stunning? lol It's just really fucking cool...

They cleaned it up SO MUCH from state to Fame... WOW CP kicks major tail.

  • Frickin incredible! Coolest single number of the 2009 season, in my opinion!
