The Germans dressed as Russians wore German boots. German boots were much better than the Russian. The Russian soldier at the beginning had sore toes because of the bad boots.

His thoughts were about the boots and he saw that the soldiers had nice GERMAN boots.

truly a brilliant movie,not all german soldiers were the brutes they have been portrayed as thru history.they were just men dealing with a horrific existence dumped on them by politicians-nothing ever changes does it?

Hallo EastCombat, schau doch bitte mal auf die Produktionsdaten dieses Filmes , das geht im Internet, dann siehst Du auch wer den Film bezahlt hat. Kam international auch gut an der GUTE STEINER. Lies doch mal das Originalbuch von Willi Heinrich "Das geduldige Fleisch" Da bleibt von Kriegs- und Siegromantik weniger über als im Film.

Der Film Stalingrad ist eine deutsche Produktion. Ich denke damit haben wir bewiesen, dass wir durchaus in der Lage sind, soetwas filmisch auf die Beine zu stellen.

again, especially now I wish heroes like Steiner who have unbeleivable guts will coming up in the world...where there are confilicts,wars,diseases, famines, bad politics and etc..

This movie is not just a movie..

Maybe this is legacy of Sam Peckinpah
