oh come on, we arnt that bad. Why did the Empire disband and evolve so peacefully into a Commonwealth? Because we oppressed them? No. Independence movements like those under Ghandi weren't exactly violent, because we weren't violent against them. The American War of Independence was a Civil War, a separatist war of British fighting Britis. We didn't ruin someone's culture like when the Americans then essentially wiped out the Natives. We were never "Nazis", unlike some people think we were.

They did ruin a lot of places...In Ireland we had such a rich culture and had advanced literature before the English came in and took over...they contributed to the famine and their prime minister at the time did little to nothing about it, Ireland has been going uphill since it recieved independence from Britain
