Unfortunately, the "great" Gram Parsons didn't write this. A blind woman named Sylvia Sammons did, and Gram "borrowed" it until he was caught and forced to pay damages and purchase the rights, since he'd told everyone he wrote it by then.
Where did you acquire this information? Never heard a word about it, nor am I able to find any info to support your statement, that includes checking with ASCAP & BMI. I was a Nashville recording engineer and songwriter for 18 years .. a story like that would have gotten around!
There is NO proof of her claim. Sylvia says she sold it to Vanguard Records in 1963 -- but she has no recording of it, no proof, and has never had any other songs published. Hmmm.
Your claim that Gram "was caught" and "forced to pay damages" is fantasy. Sylvia doesn't even claim that. There was never any legal action, no case filed, no nothing. Just the story of a woman who thinks that it was her song.
Hey U look like the dude from Jackass, just a little humor, peace !

Really nice arrangement. Your own style comes across nicely and I like the simplicity of it.

You've got a great voice. You've really captured the aching in Gram's vocals. My band does some Parsons covers. You should check them out! Nice job!
