this is a more heavy aw, chambered in .338lm, witch is much more powerfull

I love this weapon system, I've used many bolt action rifles in my time and this is one of my favorites. The .338 Lapua is, in my opinion, the perfect rifle cartridge. Not too much kick and just enough stopping power to get the job done. The only other long range rifle I would prefer over this would be an EBR (for follow-up shots).

And NO this rifle is NOT the L96.. L96 is the designation for the Precision Marksman rifle (from which the Arctic Warfare rifles were developed) and is chambered for the 7.62x51 NATO.

The AWSM chambered in the .338 Lapua magnum is in British service designated as the L115A1 or the upgraded L115A3.

The AWSM is a very very accurate rifle and the .338 lapua magnum round is considered by many to be the best sniper rifle round.. Apparently the US is now looking to use the .338 lapua to replace the .300 winchester and .50 BMG.. But truth be told, those kills were as much due to the marksmanship and luck of the shooter as they were due to the rifle and the round..

Craig Harrison's shot: "Harrison mentions the environmental conditions were perfect for long range shooting: no wind, mild weather, clear visibility." And that was 2475m (45 more than Rob Furlong). This is still a major accomplishment - Congratulations Harrison - but the conditions were much more friendly towards him than Furlong. I believe Furlong's shot is still the best in history.

AWSM is chambered with the .338 lapua magnum.
