I used to live on St John. This was by far my favorite beach. It is small, beautiful, secluded, and in the evenings there is almost nobody there. I could come here after work on Sundays and have the entire beach to myself, it was nice. Tourists either don't know about it or aren't willing to make the hike. Stupid tourists are usually too busy giving into the hype of trunk bay and end up swamping that beach. Now if you want guaranteed seclusion, like safe enough for nude tanning, go to Brown Bay.
It's not as pretty as the other beaches, and it's a real hefty hike from Johnny Horn trail and then Brown Bay trail, but it's great hiking if you like hiking. The water is real shallow, you can walk way out to the water and it will only get up to your waist. If you swim out to the deep part on the left side of the beach (left side when facing the water) there is some good snorkeling. It's a good place to see sea turtles, too.
I just came came back from St John and went to this beach... It is beatiful! After a little hike on a trail you are welcomed by pure smooth white sand and pristine blue water!
