  • Good news is ... your instructions are the clearest among all online video lessons on soukous I've seen. That's sayin' something. Musicians are often poor teachers. I still need you to clarify the fingerpicking pattern. You kind of rushed through it. Is it possible you can do a lesson on the fingerpicking patterns and their variations for acoustic guitar?

  • @eagle1sdc Thanks for the feedback...Will definitely take into consideration all your suggestions for future videos..

  • I would start with the rhythm and then progress to the solo melodies..because if you master the rhythm you will know how to phrase the solo melodies over the rhythm...

  • I would like to know that if you wanna start playin soukos what needed first is to play the rythm or the meloding scales how does is it work

  • is there a similar video for bass guitar soukous?

  • Alkisaka, thank you for those videos, please keep it up, because for me, a young european bloke these are real treasures! Anyway, I would like to ask you 3 questions based on what I saw:

    1) Is the pattern in your right hand going (T)humb, T, (I)ndex, (I), T, I, T, I?

    2) Is this pattern the same you use in every presentation (to be true I can hear it is different somehow, but I did not tried it yet)?

  • @TheBonneMaman

    3) If the answer to question no. 2 is negative, would you be so kind and share with us some more of the right hand patterns you use in your demonstration videos please?

Because correct me if I'm wrong, but for me all that delicate yet driving pulse you produce with your playing comes from those ghost notes you mute with your left hand but still pluck with your right hand (though playing 10ths and 6ths seems a bit different).

Thank you very much for you answer!
