That isn't Aharon Friedman on the porch. That is Rabbi Yehudah Levin. Aharon who lives in Maryland was not present at the protest. The protest was held in front of Aharon's uncle's home and shul and his mother's house. Rabbi Levin is an activist who has been a strong advocate for women obtaining a get in situations where a get is halachcly warrented. He has researched the Friedman case and provides a synopsis of the case on his radio show "The Fear Kashes" which can be found online.

what i don't understand is if i had a crowd of people protesting against me, why would i want to sit in front of them and listen to them or try to defend myself, it doesn't make sense. i would go inside or leave the area

Alimony or full custody is a diff story..but YES, I see no wrong doing by witholding the get for the sake of coming to fair terms of visitation, a father has a right to want to spend time with HIS kids. As for that article, don't know ab it..

Judging by the scene of the crowd..ain't too many employed amongst them, or on the same note, any Sharp tools from the shed..its not too difficult to gather a crowd of bored souls, who don't need to KNOW facts (as the woman with the green coat n gloves says, she doesn't know facts but yet she's protesting cuz she thinks he's wrong lol) so just laughing at this whole group of brainwashed ppl (including the older fellow with the beard, Btw don't ever let a beard fool u..)is not so wrong..

i had the same experience with Mr. Charnowitz he is a real mentch he helps both men and women

In addition, Mr Charnowitz is a special guy that goes sleepless nights to go above and beyond in helping guy or girls thru their divorce, he doesn't discriminate and has no agenda other then sticking up for the victim. No $ or fame is involved, just plain kindness of his heart.

But anyways, I know first hand the details of this case, and she does not agree to normal visitation conditions, he has full right to withold the get untill he's satisfied with the visitation terms, as of now the settelment is allowing him a few hours on Friday nights with the kids...u tell me if that's fair! U b the judge! I tell u, some of the opposite gender species can get real painful somrtimes!

I really have tried not to get involved with having an opinion on this case. I know people who have sided on both ways. I'm not sure if he has a "full right" to withhold a get until he's satisfied with the terms of the divorce. Then a man can always withhold until he coerces a woman to accept no alimony, give up the kids, etc. In theory, these people are saying that a get is something entirely separate from the civil divorce process.

Also, as far as the actual visitation on this case is concerned. There's a Washington Post article from 9/30/11 that confirms other reports I've seen that, as of this past summer, visitation was changed to begin on Thursday evenings and therefore no longer conflict with Shabbos. Someone here isn't very honest. I happen to know Mr. Charnowitz. He helped me with my divorce against my ex. There was no need for protests or hanging up signs, just sitting down and talking. Before hand, my husband was impossible to deal with and all the Rabbis had given up. If he says the case isn't settled, he knows what he is saying! And by the way, I doubt Mr. Charnowitz approached you, aas215790 since he doesn't get paid for his work. It's all voluntary. He isn't looking for customers!

She did agree to visitation and more....Dov Charnowitz, the blond character opposing the demonstrators lied to the camera when he said he doesn't side with men over women. Several years ago he approached me and tried to convince me to not give my wife a Get until we settle the civil divorce. He employed scare tactics and even had Rabbi Blumenkranz from Brooklyn call me the night before I was to give my Get to try to talk me out of it. He misquoted Reb Moshe to convince me he was right.
