She did it again and mapped the whole game on paper including every rock off and all the right rooms to go into in the castle! LoL @ my ma!
IIRC, the code for the very last bit ran in a sort of snake pattern from the map tablet thing you received. It started at the top right, went down, then left, then up, then down to the bottom. I haven't played this game for a good 7 or 8 years so I may be wrong, but I think that was it :D I first completed this game aged about 6 hehe. Didn't realise what a sense of achievement it actually was!

@Gogeta0110 If I remember rightly, there was some sort of tablet that you obtain earlier in the game (that or if you did the first castle properly, the king in second castle gives it to you instead of the ghost appearing. cant exactly remember!) and when you got to that stage where you needed to put in the code, when you pressed pause, the tablet comes up with the code.
I'm only saying this out of memory as the last time i completed this I was 5 (I'm now 26! lol) hope that helps!
@Gogeta0110 if you save his brother in the blue castle then he tells you to find a letter in the castle if you find that when you go to that king guy and give him the letter he gives you a stone slab with the code on it. This guy didnt need to do that though since he knew the code so he just saved himself a bunch of time saving his brother and getting the letter.

Just finished Alex Kidd Enchanted Castle for Megadrive and... it has some better graphics but the music sounds a bit better composed on this Master System game, and it sure has like 6 extra stages and better gameplay.
@lude180sx You're meant to collect a letter in the blue castle which you then trade for the stone slab in the yellow castle. The stone slab has the code on it for the end sequence. This guy was doing a speed run so he missed the letter which meant the blazed looking cunt in the yellow castle told him to leave and sent his blazeghost after alex

Me and my mum played this for days and we got just a bit further than the shower room where you hit the fish twice after that we died and couldn't get further I didn't realise the end was so close! Damn I love this game even when I'm 70 I'll still wanna play it and test my reflexes! A classic of the 80's I'm 25 today and still remember like it was last week, girls love Alex Kidd too!!! That was the first time i suceeded to complete the game and the last one with THE HARD WAY!If you fall in the water u must go through some spikes in water and the balance was so difficult!I completed the game this way reaching the last level this way!I felt releaved when i learned the other way!!(not falling in the gap):)

the final castle, so difficult... the room with water and spikes all over the place, died so much. and no continues, no saves, few lifes... was hell when i was little on my SMS2 :(
@Kohllikesnachos Partly correct - the original cartridge version was a rice ball, the later built-in version was a beefburger, catering to the American and European markets. Geek fact: the jump and punch buttons were also swapped over for the built-in edition

@haggiboy If you collect all of the different items on the way through the game, the code is written on the one that the guy gives to you in the second castle. You have to free alexs brother in the first castle first, then get the scroll in that castle. This guy didnt do that.

When I was a kid I managed to finish this game, without any hints or walkthroughs... I just don't know how I did it.
You see, if I were to play this game now (I am 20 now) for the first time without walkthroughs and such, I wouldn't have clue what to do or where to go.
3:59, see people for years have been calling this game rock,paper,scissors, yet it clearly states here, "let's janken", we've all been horribly mislead.
When I was watching this video I was thinking to myself "why don't more people talk about this game fondly when having video game nostalgia?" Then, I remembered the last castle and the bullshit walk on the tiles in the correct order puzzle and that sure answered my question.
@thehomeofballads the first stone is in that cave where the first scissor head is. the second stone is in the blue castle where the second stone head is.
@thehomeofballads when you get to that stage at 0:34 and you have these two stones, instead of the ghost a paper will appear. you can select it on the menu and you see a picture of the symbols. and the symbols are in the order you have to jump. hope you understand this, im not naturaly fluent in english.
@thehomeofballads In the game there is a piece of paper which can be foudn which has the order to stand on the blocks written on it. watch?v=WBt7kI23Bo4 shows the pieces you can collect. You have to do certain things in game for them to appear though they are not there by default for example you have to save Alex brother in the blue castle [use level maps to see him] and you need to use running slide [slide udner a one block gap by going fast and pressing down]
Actually, you could have exploited a bug in the game: If you'd have kept the cane of flight and activated it as the screen scrolling into Janken's room ( 3:51 ), you could have flown up to the ladders and skipped the whole rock/paper/scissors game and the subsequent boss fight. That might have shaved a bit off your time.

Alex eats rice in the JAP version of the game, in the game that I had the EU version he ate hamburgers :). I dont know about the US version but it seem that junk food applied only for the europeans at the time :).

@extremepietbh It's actually really easy. You can touch the spikes as long as you don't press up or down. If you allow alex to float on his own, the spikes won't hurt you.

@megamedamonZ Heres a hint to the Rock Paper Scissors: the henchmen and Janken NEVER chance which hand they use: Stone Head will ALWAYS go for Scissors then Paper when you face him the first time etc. this only changes when you choose the wrong hand against his.
i know how you feel though: that game took me 13 years to complete: the Rock Paper Scissors i could do: but that last part with the stone tiles to get the crown was a nightmare... bear in mind i was only a kid when i got this... xD
@PhoenixHelix when I was a kid I got to the last part so many times but was not able to solve the mystery of those tiles !!!! I couldn't sleep at night and felt anxious!

@isadic84 to know which tiles you have to step on, you have to take the letter from the first castle (it's not shown in this video because it's a speed run) So when you go to the second castle, your uncle awaits and gives you a stone slab which has some symbols on it (instead of a phantom waiting to kill you if you don't eat your rice or hamburger) When you open the start menu and select the stone slab, you will notice that the order that you have to step on the tiles is from top to bottom :)

When I was a kid I managed to finish this game, without any hints or walkthroughs... I just don't know how I did it.
You see, if I were to play this game now (I am 20 now) for the first time without walkthroughs and such, I wouldn't have clue what to do or where to go.

When I was watching this video I was thinking to myself "why don't more people talk about this game fondly when having video game nostalgia?" Then, I remembered the last castle and the bullshit walk on the tiles in the correct order puzzle and that sure answered my question.

@thehomeofballads the first stone is in that cave where the first scissor head is. the second stone is in the blue castle where the second stone head is.

@thehomeofballads when you get to that stage at 0:34 and you have these two stones, instead of the ghost a paper will appear. you can select it on the menu and you see a picture of the symbols. and the symbols are in the order you have to jump. hope you understand this, im not naturaly fluent in english.

@thehomeofballads In the game there is a piece of paper which can be foudn which has the order to stand on the blocks written on it. watch?v=WBt7kI23Bo4 shows the pieces you can collect. You have to do certain things in game for them to appear though they are not there by default for example you have to save Alex brother in the blue castle [use level maps to see him] and you need to use running slide [slide udner a one block gap by going fast and pressing down]

Actually, you could have exploited a bug in the game: If you'd have kept the cane of flight and activated it as the screen scrolling into Janken's room ( 3:51 ), you could have flown up to the ladders and skipped the whole rock/paper/scissors game and the subsequent boss fight. That might have shaved a bit off your time.

@thehomeofballads the order stands on a peace of paper when you get these two stones (orange and blue) and then get to this level with only the king. i think this was it..

Alex eats rice in the JAP version of the game, in the game that I had the EU version he ate hamburgers :). I dont know about the US version but it seem that junk food applied only for the europeans at the time :).

I use to love this game,but It was too hard for me!! I still don´t know what that thing is,he collects and the end of each level.You can see alex eating it on the map ;-)

this version missed out the hardest part of the game, where you have to try to swim through that spike maze. Only ever completed that once.

@extremepietbh It's actually really easy. You can touch the spikes as long as you don't press up or down. If you allow alex to float on his own, the spikes won't hurt you.

Was an awesome game back then. But im 19 now and when i see it now the story is kinda lame. o-o wtf U have to beat bosses by doing janken. when u beat em twice theyr like: OMFG ur owned me. u can pass... ur so awesome i can't do anything to stop u now. p.p
Btw is there some trick to always win the Rock paper scissors game? u never lost 1.

@megamedamonZ Heres a hint to the Rock Paper Scissors: the henchmen and Janken NEVER chance which hand they use: Stone Head will ALWAYS go for Scissors then Paper when you face him the first time etc. this only changes when you choose the wrong hand against his.
i know how you feel though: that game took me 13 years to complete: the Rock Paper Scissors i could do: but that last part with the stone tiles to get the crown was a nightmare... bear in mind i was only a kid when i got this... xD

@PhoenixHelix when I was a kid I got to the last part so many times but was not able to solve the mystery of those tiles !!!! I couldn't sleep at night and felt anxious!
Today, 16 years later, I decided to look for it on youtube and it was my lucky day !!!
how, but how is that done?? does it have any sense, reason etc. which tile you touch first ??

@isadic84 to know which tiles you have to step on, you have to take the letter from the first castle (it's not shown in this video because it's a speed run) So when you go to the second castle, your uncle awaits and gives you a stone slab which has some symbols on it (instead of a phantom waiting to kill you if you don't eat your rice or hamburger) When you open the start menu and select the stone slab, you will notice that the order that you have to step on the tiles is from top to bottom :)
