  • Thank you! jebus. I did it totally wrong because I missed those screws for fear of damaging the mobo somehow...

    Wish I'd seen it earlier (no significant damage though)

  • WOW THANKS!!! I was really down because my MBP didn't close any more but then I saw this video and it really made my day ;) I took it apart and saw that the latch thing'' was pushed away-inside.. so I pushed it back into place and it works again!

    I discovererd after taking mine apart, cause may be debris in 2 hook slots, next to/below the trackpad

    Before you take those 23 screws out try:

    1. Have someone hold the laptop upside-down with

    it opened.

    2. Press on the latch button to an open position.

    3. Insert a thin toothpick gently into the hook slots and run it back and forth GENTLY to clean it out.

    4. Turn the computer back right-side up and try out the latch.

    5. Repeat if necessary.
