To be honest, I like the music in the earlier X-Wing and Tie-Fighter games better, as the MIDI actually changes in the enviornments of the game, and it sounds better in them too.

But I just don't appreciate LucasArts sitting on these games and holding them from the public.

Only beef I have with this game is no real single player story. TIE fighter by far is still the best story for all the fight sim games.  They should do TIE 2 for PC and make it possible to be gunners like XWA.

Have you tried upping the recording framerate in Fraps? As long as your hardware can handle the load, you can record above even 60fps.

I remember how delicate the TIE interceptors were. More like mosquitoes, annoyance-wise. The TIE bombers were defenseless. But I was afraid of the TIE advances. Those things could BITE.

The shield generators on the SDs can't be damaged seperately on Medium or Hard difficulty, you have to knock out the shields first. ;-)

If you goto the bow of one of those Star Destroyers, fire 2 missiles and you can get in and blow it up from the inside.

You have to use missiles again to get out and be sure to get out where you came in.

I red it on a site and I tried it...it works.

In the original X-Wing and X-wing alliance, destroying the generator automatically takes down the shields. I'm not sure about XvT, but I know that this tactic didn't work for whatever reason in Tie Fighter.

Yes, it takes down the star destroyer's shields... which was more or less the only way to destroy the Super Star Destroyers in Balance of Power.

Seriously, though. You really should drop 2 knots on shield and 1 knot on laser. In online play, we just drop the shield all together because it's all about the speed. 8 full charged laser would kill you with full shield. 4 full charged laser would kill you with no shield. But it's much harder for them to hit you if you're fast. I miss those days. Week of War lol!

I always found a good way to get more of an edge was to fly with shield

recharge at 50% when not receiving much fire, this way I get more speed

but don't lose any shield over time. speed & never flying a straight

line, that was the game to me
