If this Tamil claim on the basis of an imperialist invasion is valid, then the Portuguese and the Dutch invaders would also be entitled to re-claim the colonial areas in Sri Lanka occupied by their own empires in the 16-18 centuries, and the British would have a claim to the entire Island based on their conquest and occupation from 1815 - 1948. Indeed, the British would be also able to re-claim much of the world
