Well, I can't explain Ringo's appearance in this video, I can explain George and Jeff's. This song was from "Full Moon Fever", which was considered to be volume 2 for the Traveling Wilburys. And yes Mike does bear an uncanny resemblance to Brian May.
Yo, ringo's there because Stan Lynch had recently quit the band, he wanted to rock and petty/campbell were going in a more radio/pop direction. So they called old ringo to see if he was down to join.
every time I watch this I see something better than before. These guys were and still are Number 1 super group.Talen abounds from each and every one.WONDERFUL music and great video.
Ringo is a personal friend of Tom Petty. For a while, he played with Petty and George Harrison in the Traveling Wilburys. Pretty much any song from George, Jeff, Tom, or Roy back in the late eighties was at least HELPED by the other guys in some way. wether it was co-writing or publishing advice.
1. Ringo shown playing "The Beatles" days Ludwig pearl drums.
2. Mike Campbell playing part of the guitar solo using George's "Rocky" psychodelic painted Fender Strat. George painted the guitar in 1967 during the Sgt. Pepper/Magical Mystery Tour time.
This was when petty was solo on the album full moon fever he and lynne (his producer at the time) were in a band with harrison (traveling wilburys) soo i guess harrison brought Ringo. Lmao confusing yes... awesome DEFFINITLEY!
This isn't really the Travelling Wilburys, but Tom Petty from his "Full Moon Fever" solo album. That's why Ringo's in it. That's Mike Campbell from the Heartbreakers, George Harrison and Jeff Lynne from ELO. Must be nice getting to perform with half the Beatles.
How many of you came here for George? :)
I do

Just realized that George brought Rocky along for the shoot and let Mike Campbell play it. How cool is that?

Tom Petty sings like Bob Dylan. For me personally I see him as kind of impersonator.

A couple of notes that need to be mentioned:
