  • Love 'em all.Ole E.T. could pick the great ones..

  • where is leon rhodes??

  • That's one hell of band! and nice hair gene!

  • I like the perm harido...

  • Jack Greene sounds incredible.

  • Does anybody know how difficult it was to be hip AND Country in those days?

It was tough, let me tell you.

Case in point: 3 rhythm guitars...

  • I have one question & please forgive me for not remembering but what year was this taped? If anyone knows could they please be kind enough to post it please thank you.

  • I am going to guess about 1976. Jerry Don Borden is the drummer - I think that is about right.

  • it is from 1982

  • That sounds right - because we taped this show on our BETAMAX. Then right after that we got the VHS.

  • Nice perm...

  • Gene Watson is in my top ten list alongside Johnny Paycheck and George Jones.

  • marty robbins looks like a porn star.

  • Looks like he wanted to be one. There is a small problem now--he's dead.

  • I just cannot believe how good this video is. I juat love it.

    Thanks a Million.

    Margaret

  • oh never mind, jack greene awesome,

  • who is singing, there goes my reason?

  • wow luv it, a first seeing this,,,, mark, you are awesome

  • I have always liked Justin Tubb - he had such a pleasant voice and was a good singer. My mom and dad used to hear him on occcasion on Ernest Tubb's Midnight Jamboree along with his sister Scooter Bill - that must have been a nickname her daddy gave her huh? Thanks again. - Paula

  • Thanks Mark for this one. I did really like to hear these boys sing. 5 *****. This was great to hear them again. This is great Country music and the kind that I love to listen to.

    Darlene

  • As big a Gene Watson fan as I am, I had no idea that he was one of Ernest Tubb's "Texas Troubadors."

  • I didn't either, nor some of the others!!!

    Wow!!!

  • Wow - what a star studded lineup here. All terrific artists. Isn't this wonderful ! I am so happy that Gene sang first tho - he's the tops and it's always special to hear his fabulous voice - and see him of course too! What a lot of talent in the audience, also. Mark I picked this one up on your Favorites and it's another winner. Thanks so much mrronniea for sharing this. - Paula

  • I found this by accident, Paula. I saved it but haven't sent it to "ALL FRIENDS" yet. Some of them may not like it, but that's what the delete command is for and at least they have the option to save it if they enjoy it. Hope you are well. I'm going to send it regardless. Mark

  • Thank You!!!

    This is great!!!

  • A real treat to find this. Thank you.

  • Freaking amazing!! all that talent on one stage playing together, No egos just respect and admiration find that in todays music! for one youd be doing good to even find that much talent in todays music!

  • Thanks for posting, this is just great. Wonderful guys none better than the great late ERNEST TUBB !!

  • New Country is nothing compared to the Classics like, Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb, Hank Snow, Bob Wills, Charley Pride and Johnny Cash.

  • That is the truth!!!

  • You can say that again, man.

  • I am sad to see this real 'country music' just go by the wayside!!!

As George Jones said & sang a few years ago, " Who's Going To Fill Their Shoes " ?

No one--not even his!!! And that is so sad!!!

  • I wish that they were still around, and it is sad, because only a few of them are left like Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard and George Jones.

  • Yeah!!! Me, too!!!

Hell, we grew up with them!!! They are like part of the family--in some cases, are!!!

I thought I would die when Elvis and Conway Twitty died!!!

  • Well in a way I lgrew up with it, because my parents listened to that, but in a way I did not, because I am only 20 years old in a few days. But to me nothing is ever going to beat the classic country or 50s and 60s rock n roll.

  • You are very intelligent to be only 20 years old!!! It looks like your parents raised you right--to appreciate your 'raising'!!!

And, you are so right about the classic country & the 50s-60s rock 'n roll!!!

  • My favorite singer of all time though is Johnny Cash, but he was not country nor rock n roll, but rather crossed all musical boundaries.

  • Yes, Johnny Cash was a wonderful singer!!! I loved him, too!!!

Though, Conway Twitty was the one who passed all boundaries--and with so many #1 hits!!!

  • Well everything that I read about Johnny Cash said that he crossed all musical boundaries.

  • He did, too!!!

    Just not like Conway!!!

  • Well I think both Johnny and Conway crossed all musical boundaries successfully and both did great jobs doing it.

  • Believe me I have read more than you can ever imagine on all these artists, especially Johnny Cash.

  • My favorite country singers are: 1. Conway Twitty 2. Charlie Rich 3. Willie Nelson 4. Waylon Jennings 5. Kenny Rogers 6. Kris Kristofferson 7. Merle Haggard 8. Carl Smith 9. George Jones 10. Hank Williams
  • You have done a great job, again!!!

I don't know how you do that at 20 years old!!! I could, but today------????????????

Your parent & your surroundings has definitely put the 'mark' on you!!!

  • Thank you.

  • You are welcome!!!

Keep listening to good Country & Rock 'n Roll !!!

  • Thanks, you do the same. Classic Country and 50s and 60s Rock N Roll rocks and always will.

  • Comment removed

  • My favorite singer of all time though is Johnny Cash, but he was not country, nor was he rock n roll. He crossed all musical boundaries, and had his own subgenre which fell between the honesty of folk, rebelliousness of rock n roll, and the world weariness of country.

  • My favorite Rock N Rollers are: 1. Elvis Presley 2. Ricky Nelson 3. Carl Perkins 4. Jerry Lee Lewis 5. Roy Orbison 6. Buddy Holly 7. Chuck Berry 8. Little Richard 9. Fats Domino 10. Neil Diamond
  • You got it right !!!

You forgot one--Conway Twitty was a Rock 'n Roller, too!!! LOL

I don't know that I could have picked them to much better--in that order!!!

And, you are 20 years old??? You are doing great!!!

  • I know that, and Conway was great when he did It's Only Make Believe, and also Jerry Lee Lewis was Rock N Roll before he changed to country in the 70s and he was great sining Great Balls Of Fire and Whole Lotta Shakin.

  • You are so right!!!

And, I was dancing to them!!! LOL LOL LOL

    I had a wonderful time!!!

  • I have a wonderful time listening to them, and playing their music with my band.

  • You have a band???

  • Yes I do.

  • Also I am very intelligent, despite the fact that I have autism, but thankfully I have had a mother who worked with me daily on it, and had music from Johnny Cash placed on my ears to soothe me as a baby, and basically that was the only thing that would. I have since branched my musical tastes out, and now I have a list of over 150 singers and bands. I graduated mainstream on the AB honor roll from high school. I also take care of my own funds and affairs. Thanks again.

  • Proud of you. Keep it up!

  • Thank you.

  • Conway's first five gold records were Rock & Roll.

  • @CashPresley32 Thank God.
