i remember as a kid me n my cousin always get our asses whopped by the bosses we had no idea how to beat em now after watching this video it made me realize kids r fukin retarded
Who ever has the actual game or the emulator, the password to get to the end bosses is 1HHHHHHH2 I was like 7 yrs old when i guessed that password out of sheer luck. And thats why i still remember it. Enjoy!
DUDE. You are something else man. I remember this game being IMPOSSIBLE. I broke it many years ago i think out of frustration. No kid has reaction skills that good.
I actually have physical copies of all three of the game boy TMNT games. I got Raddical Rescue for Christmas when I was thirteen but accidentally sold it at a game exchange along with some other games I'd intended to sell, then couldn't find a copy until years later, when I got one from Amazon. Still haven't managed to beat it but always loved the music.
I spent months on this game, never found the right way.
When I reached the last boss fights at last, I beat them again and again because I found it so cool to beat them all, one at a time. God I was so good these games.
True only becuase of the wow factor of playin as the turtles. Other then that the game is bland press and that's it. No, kick buttton, no holding, no special moves, and no crowd control moves! Final fight and streets of rage are better!
How come you enter all the boss battles from right to left? It usually being otherwise, something about it puts me off. But only slightly, mind you. Who are Scratch and Scale Tail? Were they ever in the cartoons?
scale tale was just in this game and he was an action figure. Scratch the "cat burglar" character was created as part of a trio of bad guys in the Archie comic book and was later adapted into an action figure and this game.
@trapadoored Thanks for the info. Apparently, a number of characters never made it to the cartoon but were only action figures. Some of them were pretty cool, too, such as Hot Spot and Monty Moose. Those two weren't ever in the comics, were they?
@SethBlizzard by Hot Spot do you mean Hot Head? The Dragon guy? He was actually from the Archie series but he was yellow originally and his name was "Warrior Dragon"
actually he and Monty Moose and Scratch were all created by Ryan Brown who worked for Mirage Studios.
I think my favorite character he created was Wyrm. I wish he would have been in this game as a boss!
@trapadoored Thanks but no, I was talking about Hot Spot the Dalmatian firefighter. Never even heard of Hot Head. I couldn't have hoped for him or Monty Moose in the game as bosses, though, being good guys and all.
@SethBlizzard I looked up hot spot and was shocked to find a character I didn't recognize. This must have come very late in the series run maybe around the time of Half Court the basketball giraffe.
I played this game a long time ago. I never managed to beat shredder. The first time i thought i'd beat him but then the jerk regenerated. Arg, that seriously p-me off. Back in the day when internet was still scarce, you had to figure stuff out for youself. I cracked the password for the second boss (row of ones) and played on from there. Great vid, love the final kick in the shredder's back, he deserved it.
Shredder/Cyber Shredder was definitely the hardest boss in the game, on second place is Scale Tail (fourth boss), third is the Triceraton (third boss), fourth is Scratch (first boss) and fifth/last is Dirtbag (second boss), because Dirtbag is stupidly easy once you figure his pattern out.
Oh, well, if you ever decide to try playing this game through again, then I wish you good luck, the game's good if you forgive its difficulty (you don't have to forgive the bosses being damn near impossible).
The worst for me was the second one because the animation in just about everything was simply awkward, the bonus games were unfair at times and bosses were a bit too stupid.
maybe, but it´s longer and harder than the 1st one, although i agree, the animation was kind of awkward, and the bosses were harder than the ones in the 1st game(krang and super shredder were the harder for me)
I heard this kinda played like SOTN! far better than Fall of the Foot Clan!

I may be wrong, but I thought the second boss was in an outside level?
thegreatNEb 1 year ago
@thegreatNEb Yes, but at the end of the game you have a boss rush and all battles are indoors.

Anyone else notice that the music and the boss door is very reminiscent of Mega Man?

this game was so fucking hard

@celluloidheroesradio
i second that.
I only ever managed to get to Shredder once I had the emulator on my pc so I could save state. Even then I never managed to beat him.
Nice to see a real challenging platformer though

Damn did this game fly under the radar in 1993 and was completely forgotten since.
Very underrated TMNT game. Pushed the graphical limits of the Game Boy too.
