  • I love how these idiots think they know construction. I work in construction Tania, why dont you stick to what you know best you bottom feeding parasite.

  • I Wonder...

How many rooms does her house have ?

  • Hmm..

why would i want to build a house in Australia anyway?

Shoddy build quality and overprized they are...no more...no less!

Filthy unethical real estate clowns with very low moral standards have the say in the housing market Australia and the currupt government doesn't release enough land and makes money out of it.

In the US I can get the same build quality for a third of the prize and even in Germany I would spend less to get a house ten times the quality...

    Its pathetic

  • @Navium You need to understand that the average income in Australia is much higher than the US. Also supply and demand.

  • @polsktralia

Average annual household income US = 31111

Average annual household income AUS= 26915

    source : wikipedia

I earned a lot more in the US compared to what I currebtly make down under.

Houses are cheaply made and three times as expensive compared to the US.

There are no excuses. Australia is a very expensive place to life...and for no reason actually

  • @Navium You should find a better source. The average male income in Australia is $64,641, also the minimum wage in Australia for an adult is $15.51ph. The average minimum in the US is around $8ph(differs slightly depending on the state) $40,711.61 was the average yearly income figure for the US. All of these figures are from government websites

I agree that house prices are over inflated, but it's due to supply and demand.

  • This policy is promoted as a result of UN pressure in regards to 'Agenda 21,' or in other words "sustainable development." Agenda 21 was conceived just prior to the Rio Earth Summit, Brazil '92. Australia signed on to it and you can now see it being promoted by the Greens, local councils, state/federal governments etc. Henry Lamb has done alot of work on this topic if you'd like more resources. Central planning never works.

  • bitch troll from hell

  • If anyone can stick a knife in your face and smile at you while doing it, its this woman.

  • So the Minister says that the way levies and fees work are encouraging one generic housing solution (5 bedroom houses) and LibertyAustralia, which purports to be a libertarian organization has a problem with this?

The solution of course is to remove the regulation and let the market build the houses the population needs.... and that means a lot more smaller homes to suit an aging population of retirees and single parent families.

  • @glengyron Plibersek is proposing increased levies for building these larger homes to prevent people building the house they want. She is a green fanatic. She is not proposing dropping levies. Obviously WE do not want ANY levies.

  • Check Tanya out at the Fabian lunch at ANU watch?v=0cDIu085N5Y. The government wants to "help" with housing affordability... if they'd only let it alone it would sort itself out

  • I'm confused. Why the hell does she want to stop people building homes? Fuck you, minister -_-

  • Tanya. Central Planning does not work..You need to get out of the parasite sector and get yourself into a productive job.

  • people are irrational and don't know what they want. TBH people are to pathetic to be exposed to a free society.
