  • run doggie run dont get hit by the metrolink with a normal p2

  • @bnsfwarbonnet Seriously, you'd think this horn would hurt a dog's ears...

  • And amazingly, I've actually heard worse horns on the Northeast Corridor! However, I'd have to agree with every 1 else, that sucked!

  • @TH3GR1FF13 Thanks for the comment. It's nice to know that we don't have the worst of the worst horns out here on the West Coast! :P

  • That nasty P2 sounded like a sick duck being humped. XD

  • @Randoman35 LMAO. ;)

  • UGLY ASS HORN!!!!!

  • wow that house is soo close by! getting use to that horn??

  • @jamaq Yes! Horns can be a bit noisy. :)

  • Short train

  • Ugly horn

  • This is madness!

I wanna bash every P2 horn Metrolink has with a sledge hammer, so they have to use K5LA!

  • LOL!

  • That horn Is embarrasing.

  • Yes, they could have at least used a can of compressed air for the horn. Hahaha.

  • Metrolink trains are short. In Toronto, our Go Transit trains are 10 or 12 coaches long

  • Hahaha, you're not the first Canadian to say this. 10 to 12 cars sounds amazing. Thank you for commenting. :)

  • @krazydrummer Yeah, what's the deal with that? LA is like 5 times more congested than Toronto yet GO trains are like a freaking mile long and Metrolink trains are a loco and 4 or 5 cars. Are there just more Metrolink trains running more frequently or something?

  • What is that barking noise in this video?

  • some neighborhood dogs

  • zGood train, but terrible horn. They need to get a k5la

  • That's for sure!

  • I agree. That horn has no dignity.

  • Hahaha!

  • Aside from the horn, I could barely hear that train going through. Why is it so quiet here? Are the tracks welded extra hard or something?

  • Thanks for the comment and the question. Basically, this particular area of track is probably 15-16 years old (or possibly newer) and is surrounded by houses. For safety and to keep noise levels down, Metrolink probably took extra measures by possibly by welding the tracks extra hard. I can't say for sure though...

  • SO DEAL OR NO DEAL GAME

  • That horn is poor.

  • I think a lot of people agree with you.

  • Soooper Doop!#

  • Sooper dooper thanks!

  • The bells sound messed up

  • Hahaha...three months ago someone said that "it sounds like someones ringing the dinner bell.."

You're not alone. Thanks for the comment!

  • your welcome msts is better on crossings but i like trainz. Hope MSTS2 has a loading unloading car feature like Trainzs do

  • The good old days...I remember playing MSTS 7 years ago...I bought Trainz last year, but I could never get it to work...maybe I'll get MSTS2 when it comes out. :)

  • Nice video! I've taken the Metrolink dozens of times, and it's a nice ride. I like Amtrak too. I'm always amazed at how fast they actually are whenever I see one pass by at a crossing! They're so smooth that you don't realize you're going that fast if you're riding the train...but you can definitely tell how fast they are when one passes!

  • Thanks you for the comment! They do go by fast at the crossings, they look like they go even faster at night! I know what you mean about being in something going fast and not really realizing how fast you're going until you watch from the outside. Have fun! :)

  • Those bells are loud enough.

  • Yeah, they are pretty loud. There are houses all around that crossing too, and they are about 50 years old...so they pry have no sound proofing. Merry Christmas!

  • We need some electronic bells at this crossing.....it sounds like someones ringing the dinner bell..

  • Hahaha! That was funny!

  • I LOVE the P2 horn!

  • Thanks mate! They sound better when they're clean!

  • The nose is flat at the top too, so it's definitely an F59ph. I checked the Metrolink fleet list and No.s 851-873 are F59ph's, this one is #853. it definitely is an F59ph.

  • This definitely is an F59ph. Thanks for the info! I found out that these units are made/assembled in Ontario, Canada BUT have mostly American made parts inside.

  • I Never See The F59PHIs Anymore

  • I don't see them all the time either. I guess that's because Metrolink's engine of choice seems to be the F59PH, which makes up a large amount of their fleet.

  • It's an F59ph. The top of the nose slants up at a fairly high angle. F40ph's don't have as high of a slant.

  • Good observation! The angle is slanted fairly high.

  • It's an F59.

  • I agree. Thanks!

  • Metrolinks Horns Suck!

  • I think the engine's horn sounds that way because of its postition, at least that's what I heard.

  • The have k5las but they never use them, they ALWAYS USE THERE SHITTY P2 which is always CLOGGED!!

  • Yeah, I think I have heard the K5 ONCE, but like you said, they use the P2 which is even more clogged now with all of the wildfires!

  • I have a video of Metrolink loco #862 BLARING its K5LA along with the P2.

  • I just checked it out. Thanks! Metrolink's using both are hard to find.

  • What Assholes to PUT THE UNDER THE COUPLER!

  • Out of all the locations...

  • The engine in the back is an F59PH... I don't think Metrolink uses their F40's for normal commuter service, though I could be wrong.

BTW, what street is that crossing?

  • Yup, I'm wrong... metrolink does use the F40PHRs for commuter service. Sorry.

  • They can be hard to distinguish, thanks for letting me know.

  • Sure, I sent you a message.

  • GREAT ! F40ph at the end ?

  • Either an F59ph or F40ph. I think it is F59ph. These used to be made in La Grange, Illinois, but now are made in Ontario, Canada.
