  • Worst storm in 40 years? october 1987 was the worst in living memory

  • Simply stunning...fantastic choice of music too.. Must admit I really love being out in the elements..I was on Brighton the beach last week right by the pier in the thunder+lightening+I saw a totally naked man running around on the beach getting into it;)). It's a cool place to live in for sure,,many thanks.peace Sophie

  • I WAS 20 TO 30 FEET AWAY FORM WHEAR YOU WAS FILMING THE SHOTS NEAR THE PIER I WAS JUST ON THE PIER IT WAS ONE HELL OF A STORM NICE VIDEO MAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

  • i think i was about 10 when this happened. i was refusing to go out at all. mmmm, staying in bed all day listening to the rain XD

but every time we went out to like the shops or something we'd come back and find all our stuff in the garden knocked over.

  • Biggist storm in 40 years, has everyone forgotten 16th October 1987 then?

  • @nykola1234 lol, thats my D.O.B

  • the water went towards the boardwalk?

  • God, it was scary!

There was fork lightning and everything! I had never seen that before, I was only 10 at the time so I was freaked out!

  • Anyone remember when the Athina B was beached next to the pier in 1980?

  • that was my birthdaaaaayy

  • omg, breath taking, great vid, perfect music set to it.

  • in the other youtube video there was a torado in brighton!

  • l was at in that beach like beach lifeguard and l love this massi wave

  • I was down the seafront feeling this storm first-hand and at close quarters, it was pretty frickin awesome, I love storms and mad weather events, we don't often get them in the UK but when we do its great to see a true force of nature do its thing. I know that weather causes havoc & destruction many places around the world, that lives are sometimes lost & obviously, it has to be said, that is sad & not something to glorify but storms are also things of beauty. I hope you get what I mean....

  • OMG how did u video tape that u could've gotten all soken wet and was that really on brighten beach in new york

  • There's a brighten beach in New york? And no dude Brighton is one of the most famous beaches in England. (mainly due to it's awesome pier)

  • my birth day was on the 11 of march and io was 13 this year wtf lol

  • LoL @3.45 it almost got ya there but by the way it it cut out it may have got ya ;)

    I love storms :)

  • same, there so fasinating :]

  • id get the jet ski out in that...

  • I was on that very pier exactly 10 years before this was shot. At that particular 10th March is was a foggy day, and I ate whelks.

  • Fantastic video!

  • the wharf is close!

  • Looks calmer than the Great Lakes there, particularily Lake Superior. Search for "Big Ass Waves", very fast moving too, in Duluth, MN ship canal.

  • I wouldn't want to take a kayak out in in though! Looks pretty rough to me. You're right about The Great Lakes. Over the years, there have been about 5,000 shipwrecks there. Doesn't matter the size of the ship, the lakes can sink any of them if they are caught out in a storm.

  • Yeah, no kayaks for me either in that rough surf. BTW, I was joking a bit because that is very bad surf and winds. I have to publicize the Graet Lakes though for tourists and unwarned salties.

  • surfs up

  • I have been there in winder of 2005. I love Brighton. Hope everything is fine now.

  • i live in BRIGHTON woooooo

  • i am not a good swimmer

  • i was there!!

  • me tooo

  • haha!

  • @ROCKsquareANORACK me three lol, i was menna be training pk with urban athletics... we then attempted to fly :P

  • Its amazing what mother nature can do. She has unpredictable moods!

  • yeah the natural sound on this was wind blowing in the microphone

  • well all i can say is i'd hate to be in that sea! :0 i used to live in brighton- i live in the cotswolds now, far from the sea. i miss the sea but not when its dangerous.

  • Oh... wow. Scary. I'm in Sussex, too. We got hit pretty bad. Talk about strange weather lately. -SW

  • thanks for watching

i though it complimented your classical outdoor video

  • awsome....great footage here! And the perfect music!!! :)

  • thanks

its like that today but im not going out

    too cold

and anyway i should be at work

    (dont tell the boss)

  • is it like this alot then?

cos im going there soon dont want it to be windy?

  • today was hot and sunny on the beach and very few people

  • wow! Seaford got it too, check out 'years between' a seaford story on a calmer day thanks -chris

  • ok will do that its nice to see local youtubers

  • what music is this bud?

  • four seasons vivaldi

  • love this vid and the ocean... you should invest in a tripod

  • yes i need a decent hdd videocamera with tripod and a new computer

i already made a vlog about this but havent uploaded yet

i only bought this camera for taking stills which it does a wonderfull job of but i got addicted to taking video and now im addicted to youtube and making videos thanks for the comment

  • I'm addicted too. I love the fact that I can see a view into your world, and you are on the other side of the globe from me. (Aurora Colorado) I'm on the verge of jumping into the youtube world. For now I remain a youtube spy. Maybe sometime soon. :) Keep up the good vids.

  • hey thanks so much for the nice comments

ive had time off this week and been trying to make vlog videos and become very discouraged and dissolusioned :-(

i have equipment that doesent meet the job and the slowest computer on earth and half the time cant find anything to say

and when i look at some of the stuff on here people are waffleing on about rubbish and have loads of subscribers Why ???

of course there are some great genuine loveable funny people here like musof and genetic blend etc

  • Wonder how the west pier liked this storm

  • it looked amazing i should have got some better shots from the other side of the pier but ut really was rough and i was worried about my camera

i went to the marina and it nearly swept me away on the drivethanks for commenting

  • great view of nature at its fury, and lovely matching music.

  • it was a good storm

  • Thanks for doing the video! I'd heard about the storm, but hadn't seen any vid footage of it. Seems strange to see the waters so angry, when I'm used to seein' it at Brighton when the waters are pretty mellow!

  • yes some great photos in the paper

i could have been in them the local paper camera man was next to me at the time

he was doing a stunt with an umbrella i thought it was a bit odd

he did it for the pictures

  • The angry sea indeed. It was like that along here as well. I was very tempted to go out with my camera, but i was concerned it might get a bit wet!!

The music was just right for this :)

  • yeah the camera did get wet there were lots of other people videoing it as well i guess for youtube

i should have used my old camera it was silly using it for this with all the salt water flying around

its not even a proper video camera just a casio exilim

i dropped my forst brand new one on a beach in san francisco and filled it with sand

so had to replace it with this one !!
