  • Does anyone else think his vocals sound a bit like Howlin Wolf? :)

  • This is a travesty, I hear that they're going to start culling badgers again?

  • it was sounds like this that made me pick up the guitar, and ppl please dont diss blues rockers or other blues musicians just because this is pure Blues :)

    Long Live the Blues

  • Thanks for posting this! It's some DEEP blues. And that's a wild guitar.

  • He is as big as Howlin` Wolf :) , great bluesman.

  • Great post!!! Great Alvin... keep on bluesin ;)

  • From him comes the blues and how we pine. for so hard the sound will fly that no other will shine. Deep it finds home, in the soul you feel the shake, like the cry of thunder your soul feels awake.

  • Whats this song called??

  • if blues was money

  • AYH makes Keb Mo' sound like Perry Como. He sounds so authentic you sometimes wonder if he's miming to a 1926 Charley Patton record. He's bloody amazing.

  • keb' mo' is better

  • There ain't no better or worse, there's only different. I like both of them myself.

  • mitch26; You are right. They all are good in their own way. Keb Mo has become alot more commercial now since Tom Jones covered his songs. I like Eric Bibb also but THIS man is the rawest, closest link to Charley Patton in the 21st Century. AYH is just damn versatile. He's done everything and he's done it so well. His version of Led Z's "Heartbreaker" is beyond belief!

  • Dude can you send me a link or somthing for that heartbreaker song. I need to hear that!!

  • I know nothing about the blues, but I've heard a lot of this guy's stuff on Pandora and I feel it in my bones.

    Freaking genius.

  • Alvin gets overlooked, man. He's far more talented than Keb' Mo' and writes better songs. Cory Harris and Alvin are where it's at in modern Blues.

  • They don't call it the blues for nothin'

  • TampaRed; I always wondered what Maxwell Street Jimmy sounded like and here we have the closest thing. AYH is so hard to pin down.He sounds SO authentic. He's one of the finest musicians on this planet together with David Lindley, and his vocals remind me alot of Lowell George at various times.

  • Big time fan love Big Mama's door he also is Great with Maria Muldaur on her CD Richland Woman Blues

    DaveM1948

  • Big Mama's Door is a must have CD!!!!

  • unban keep it real

  • Alvin is out of Memphis but to my knowledge doesn't play there regularly. He recently accompanied Bo Diddley on tour, accompanying the backup band as well as stepping out for his own set. He tours regularly you might check out his myspace page.

  • Where does this guy play regularly? I need a live blues fix and most of the guys I like are long gone.

  • HPOLY SSHIT

  • that was tight other than the drunk broad that cant dance. but if your feelin the feelin you gotta do what you gotta do. i aint mad atcha.

  • He's fat.

  • He's beautiful and talented.

  • It's 'If Blues Was Money' from 'Big Mama's Door'.

  • Can you tell me the name of this song pleeease?

  • yeah, Great to see some Alvin Youngblood Hart on Youtube.I like him best when he goes acoustic and goes back to his roots.

  • Same.

  • Yeah, I'm down on this shit!

  • This guy is a real talent I place him right next to John Mooney when it comes to rough blues he is really smokin' Thanks for posting this !

  • One of the best modern country Blues players in the world!
