I think the rise of thyroid problems is because there's more education about the causes, so people are more apt to ask the doc about it and get their diagnosis. I also think the fact that doctors in the past 10 years are more aware of subclinical hypothyroidism/aka thyroid intolerance.
I would like to know if, breathing in too much gas fumes from a leaking gas line in a car can disturb your thyroid? Also..., sometimes, I feel an uneasiness in my neck(around the Adam's Apple)but, when I give it a little sqeeze..., I feel a noticable relief. Is that a sign of a Thyroid problem? An ans. would definitely be appreciated!
There are so many causes of thyroid disorders that it could be. It would be best to get it checked by an endocrinologist who does the physical exam on your thyroid. They'd give you the blood test and the physical exam is like someone just holding your neck. The also listen to it with a stethoscope.
Oh, ok. That would be the best thing to do. I think, the cause of my Thyroid problem(if I really have any)is, taking too medication for a sore throat I had, a few weeks ago. Smh..
In my thyroid playlist, there's a video about babies born with hypothyroidism having some sort of congestion, and I've read that low thyroid can eventually lead to congestive heart failure in some patients, but I don't know how many. Some thyroid paitents get sleep apnea. I'm just guessing at this point. It's worth looking into. Are you talking about bronchitis?
Babies born with hypothyroidsm? Wow! That's really sad! How would a parent know if, their child have hypothyroidsm(especially if, they're too young to communicate)? Smh.. I really hope, it not bronchitis, I have!!! I haven't been doing anything crazy enough to get bronchitis. I did have a sore throat, a few weeks ago...and, it seems like, it triggered my upper chest malaise. Could've been the antibiotic meds. also! How does someone catches bronchitis?
Now babies are given a heel-prick blood test for it, but people over 25 or 26 weren't tested as infants and may have had it since birth. I'm not sure about bronchitis.
Oh great! Now..., I'm all shook up! It dosen't seem like, I have a bad cold(just a little off and, on cough but, nothing serious)and, I don't really have that sort of weird noise that, comes when, breathing heavy(thank GOD to that)! If that's the case..., how does one treat or, cure it?
It could be. It sounds like you need to see a doc. It's either your esophagus, thyroid, or bronchial tubes and lungs. It could be any of those things.
hi, just today after recieving my blood test result, my doctor told on the phone that i have a thyroid problem, i didnt see him yet, but iam wondering if working with radio active material as a nuclear gauge for density teating would be a reason for developing a thyroid problem?
My 18 year old daughter had hyperthyroidism with a big goiter for 2-3 years.I read online how cooking food in plastic containers can release chemicals which can affect your thyroid/endocrine system.I got rid of all plastics and bought glass, stainless steel and ceramic bowls and got rid of scratched pots and pans, organic shampoo, bleachless paper products and she got her blood work results back about 6 weeks later and she is normal now. She was taking only 5 mg pill a day. Also prayers help too.
From what I've read, mercury, and also chlorine, and pesticides, as well as radiation. There are so many causes of thyroid disorders, it's no wonder it's a common problem.
What exactly does he mean by "heavy metals?" Like what examples exemplify exposure to heavy metals? Like, if you're leaning on an iron support beam that weighs alot, can it affect your thyroid gland?
Mercury from dental fillings, chlorine in the water, pesticides on foods, and radiation exposure are all causes. There are just too many causes to name.

I think bronchitis involves upper chest pain. It's usually brought on by a chest cold, but I've heard of people having chronic bronchitis.

Absolutely. If you look up the Chernobyl accident in russia, you'll notice an increase in thyroid disorders because of the radiation.

I think he means metal exposure, like mercury, which can be found in amalgam dental fillings, in some fish and in some water.
