.... From what I remember of watching this on TV back in the day .... the girl was pulled from the crowd to dance onstage with the band the song before this one .... and then she was invited to stay there for the the final song of the set (this one).

@cgrkiss it's actually a song he wrote to his mother, it's not a love song, which happens to be the common misconception. his mom didn't approve of the girl emerson married, and he's telling his mom that she doesn't understand why they're together
