Hoyt was always more than generous in his praise of others singing (particularly Fred Neil) but the reality is that by the mid-1970's his voice had deepened to the best instrument in folkiedom. Wish we had more than we do of him.
Hoyt was a wonderful artist and one of America's most underated. He was never afraid to tackle different genres, This is one of my favourite. R.I,P. Hoyt.
Hoyt Axton was (and still is) one of the best kept secrets of Americana music... Folk, Country, Blues... yes he did it all. From what I hear, he was also a generally nice person who would give a complete stranger the shirt off his back... This tune, I think, is his FINEST composition and his BEST performance!
Hoyt Axton is one of the most origanal singer-songwriters of our time. Wish I would have gone to see him when he was here with us. See you later Hoyt. Thank you so much for this upload. Hoyt! What a talent! Great actor too!
I listened to this song almost every day that I was in college. I love all of this man's music, but this is one of my favorites. Thank you for letting me relive this time in my life.

Couldn't agree more. Hoyt's music is a treasure. Hoyt, himself, was a treasure. I miss him. I totally dig his version of "Blue Prelude".
